Saints taking on big (Sky) boys

Formergriz, let me get this straight, you stopped liking the Griz because of their lack of Montana players and you are on here saying CC will beat PSU because of Montana-born players? Do you actually watch Carroll? First, the Saints would not be where they are today without out-of-state players. On their 99-man active roster this past season, only 44 players were from Montana.Carroll had 13 All-Conference selections. Eight of them were NOT from Montana. Carroll had two offensive lineman and named First Team NAIA All-American, who were NOT from Montana. Brian Strobel, who many consider the best defensive back in the NAIA is NOT from Montana. Yes, NAIA Player of the Year Chance Demarias is indeed from MT, but the next great CC offensive player, Dustin Rinker is NOT from Montana and after this season, there is no way Chance gets that many carries next year because Rinker is far too good not to be on the field.

Also, you're making it sound like Nick Howlett is some sort of innovator of offense. Have you actually watched Carroll's offense? It's by far the least innovative in the Frontier Conference. Now I'll say that because CC could line it up with its offensive line, and smash it down Frontier team's throats, they don't have to be creative, but their base offensive scheme is nothing like what a lot of FCS and FBS schools are running today. You just don't even sound like you actually watch Carroll play.

okay, NDSU was a bad example but my point is that in a couple of chippers Carroll was not the most athletic team on the field as when the saints played northwest okla state with patrick clayton (dallas cowboys wr) at quarterback and the 2010 game against a bigger more athletic sioux falls team. a great game plan and kids knowing the offensive and defensive schemes can go a long way but ultimately the carroll kids play for each other and the name on the front of the uniforms not the name on the back..... give carroll a mountain to climb (psu game) and they will surprise even the most arrogant griz fans.... just my 2 cents....

Sam Houston State has 80+ Texas kids on the roster. draw your own conclusions. Matter of fact Sam Houston State only lists the town not state. Good thing I know a lot of towns in Texas.

PSU vrs Carroll win/win for a Griz fan. Carroll wins (go Montana boys!) PSU wins (So you think you can play with the Griz?)

This formergrizfan guy is a riot. I'm ignorant because I allegedly don't know the talent difference between FCS and NAIA (you know, not even sponsored by the NCAA). That's laughable! I watched Carroll's great white hero Tyler Emmert (right?) play a couple years ago against USF and he wasn't anywhere near the calibur of an FCS QB, or even the kid from Kalispell that played for CWU a couple years ago. USF had a couple guys I went to HS with playing for them.. those guys in high school, and in college, were not even REMOTELY close to being FCS type talent, and not even D2 talent.. there's a reason they were playing ball in NAIA.. because they were too small, but yet, playing for the best team in NAIA. The guy I went to HS with was a 200lb MLB at USF. Now you tell me, what's the talent and size diff? This game won't be close and Carroll's going to get a beatdown they've never taken before.

MrTitleist says tyler emmert was not a good qb yet he was signed to a free agent contract by the BC Lions of the CFL. so apparently someone in the Lions organization thought he had talent..... amazing......

you didn't. my bad. you said 31-14 PSU. ripping UM though when CC has almost the EXACT same percentage of MT players is pretty hypocritical though.

also on that USF team was a drop down qb from Colorado state and the walker kid a drop down from university of florida who played running back and was on the their track team. i guess these guys have no talent either....

Southern Oregon
lost to PSU 52-0 (down 38-0 @ half)
lost to Tech 50-47 2ot
beat Eastern Oregon 46-34

Carroll
lost to Eastern Oregon 41-33
beat Tech 26-0
beat Eastern Oregon 31-21
beat Tech 28-14

maybe change your name to cal state missoula

Maybe Carroll should change their name to Idaho State-Helena... cause you know.. you have close to the same percentage of Idaho players on your team as we have California players on ours.

Iv'e watched a lot Saints games. Very well coached team. I really think they could hang quite awhile with PSU ... IF it was back in the Emmert days at QB. Since then their QB play has been average in comparison. Still a great team ... obviously ... but not dynamic on offense.

This coming season they will be breaking in a new QB ... so there is another question mark for the Saints.

Ill say Portland 38 , Saints 10 ( though Saints need to find a field goal kicker in a big way)

It's funny Saints fans say they've got nothing to prove, etc but get all butt-hurt as soon as it's projected they'll get stomped by a Big Sky team.

well its been fun talking to you thin skinned griz fans. good luck next season...

So, once your arguments has been thoroughly destroyed, you flee the forum?

Good luck against PSU. It would be neat to see you guys actually put up a fight, but I seriously doubt it'll be very close at all.

Oh, one last question...since Montana Tech has a much higher percentage of Montanans on their team, will you be Formersaintsfan soon? ;)

As an FYI, Carroll has more out-of-state players (76) on their roster than in-state (55).
