Said after Cats game that our inability to make FTs would catch up...

And bingo I was right. Someone told me I was grasping.

Not sure the two missed FT's were the biggest issue tonight.

Agree but they would have sealed the game. It would have been a win if they hit the FTs they got.

Yes, but they could have won with about 6 other things also.

I can’t argue that.

You are very smart to anticipate that the Griz would have a game in which they would shoot only 2 free throws, and the best free throw shooter, at 91%, would miss the front end of a one and one in the last 7 or so seconds with the Griz up only 1. To lose the game,.

Yes, instead of bad shooters like Manuel (91%) and Falls (64%), UM should have had Pridgett at the line.

So, were you predicting that Manuel would go to the line late in the game and miss?

Simply said last week that our poor FT shooting and inability to hit them will lead to a loss sooner or later.....and I was right. It led to a loss sooner. I don’t care they only got two FTs. They missed them both and both would have led to 2 more and those would have sealed the game with a win. And they blew it.

Yup, the issue with this team is that Kendal Manuel isn't a good enough FT shooter

He sure wasn’t last night with the game on the line. Nor was Timmy. And Sayeed vs the Cats was 1-7. Why do we suck at FTs. Cost us a game like I said it would.

Literally one of the best FT shooters in the world, but go off I guess.

And I laugh how PR points out that Timmy shooting 64% from the FT line is a good thing. That’s awful! There are high school girls who are freshman that can shoot 70% from the line easily. Why does our team struggle with it so badly outside of Manuel.

Come on man you’re putting a huge spin on this.

Would his two free throws have sealed the game? If Timmy makes both of his would that have helped seal the game. That’s all I’m saying no less no more that those two missing free throws cost us a win. And I claimed a week ago that our free-throw shooting will cost us a game.

ON the other hand, a good rebounding team would not be dependent upon a pressure loaded free throw on an opponents home floor with 8 seconds to go.

Because all kids like to do is hit triples and dunk. They ignore the mid-range game.

Manuel was 70/76 before that miss. best FT shooter in the conference. Hadn't missed since sometime in December. If there's ANY guy you want on the line with the game on the line, it's him.

Griz as a whole shoot 72.6% on FT's, 2nd in the conference only to the 'Scats.

Explain to me again how FT shooting is such a problem on this team?

edit: the issue isn't that we suck at FT shooting. The issue is that we suck at getting to the line. Griz are dead last in the conference in FT attempts. Some teams (MSU, PSU, EWU, SUU) have well over 100 more FT attempts than the Griz. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how the Griz can take 45 FG attempts and NOT BE FOULED ON A SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I get not getting to the line because you never made the bonus, but somehow all 12 of NAU's fouls were away from the ball or not on a shot attempt. Miraculous, to say the least.
