Sacramento State Hornets Scouting Report

There's been little to no discussion of Sac State's ST play. This is one of my favorite topics and one that the Griz under Hauck almost always dominate.
Anyone know if they are any good? Or is this just another FCS team we will dominate in this important facet of the game.

Fully expect this aspect to favor Montana. From watching the cat game I learned...

1. Sac State fair catch all kick offs. Whatever the reason they never run one back.
2. Sac State kicker has issues. They rarely try field goals and he has missed 3 or 4 extra points.

So Grizzlies should have an edge on field position with our kick return guys, and have ability to pick up a long field goal if necessary. Throw in our potential on punt returns and special teams should be a plus. Otherwise on paper this appears to be a very even match up, or even a slight Sac State advantage.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Hope Griz get the win. Go Griz! :ugeek:

Thanks. I sorta remembered that I wasn't impressed with their kicking game Vs the scats. Our LS Matthew O'Donoghue is a real asset and a great guy to boot.
I'm hoping that with a2 week prep time our return game will be even more lethal

Punt good. Kick bad. Fair catch all KR. Coverage teams solid. Scares me...

I believe Sac has one of the best net return yards on kick returns. Could be a other fascinating matchup.
