After watching this game, I'm liking our chances against both of these teams. Playing them at home is huge.

I agree, but both are good or very good.

I think what a lot of us are missing is that any outcome from this game is only good for us. Either Sac or the cats will have one conference loss. And then we beat ‘em both we win the conference outright

Sac's defense has to come alive here if they want any shot. cats are gonna milk 6+ minutes on the way down the field and put the game away if they don't.

Yes of course. It's just that I don't think they're quite as good as I thought they were, and we have improved so much over the last 3 weeks that I like our chances more now. You asked when I was getting back on the bandwagon so here I am. LOL.

Sac already lost to Idaho, so they'll have 2 if they lose.

Honestly, the gap that Nuanez, cats fans, and many others around the FCS have implied exists between SDSU, MSU and the rest of the FCS has been revealed to be a false narrative. From where I sit, there appears to be parity in the FCS again, at least among the top 15 or so teams. Both SDSU and MSU look like very good football teams, yes, but not like the unbeatable teams of NDSU from 2013-2019. THOSE teams were simply built different. While both MSU and SDSU look good, neither look unbeatable.

It simply appears to me that if the Griz can shut down the cats run game, we can control that game at will. They will be able to run against us but our run D is better than Sacs. On the flip side, Gilman, Ostmo, and Harris are gonna have career days against the cats run D. It’s not very good. We should pass for over 200 and run for over 250 on those guys. Sac will be a bit different. They throw the ball way more but they don’t have a Hayden Hatten. Maybe Gradney gets a couple picks?

Dude, while I love the optimism, I’ll believe that our defense can stop MSUs run when the ACTUALLY DO IT! They have put up stupid big number on this defensive scheme in 3 of the last 4 games. Maybe Ronnie Bradford and Tim hauck have some new wrinkles that will help slow their run game down, but the Griz defense has to prove it

Yeah, I won't make any statements about our ability to stop this cats offense until we actually do it.

All of this is WAAAY easier said than done. Watching the Cats line run block is so interesting. They have been putting on a clinic all year. There is no such thing as “shutting down the cat’s run game.” I’m still not sold that the scheme the Griz run can stop an actual run first team with the plus one. It’s going to take a flawless game to beat them. Which is something Sac seems to struggle with.

So much for that theory.

They were so bad they cut 5 minutes off my prognostication.

I agree, we have work to do, but the improvement we have seen over the last few weeks is impressive. And after NAU I didn’t have any faith. Last week really showed me the Griz are still in this to the end.

I’m a known Nervous Nellie, so I’m not ready to hop on just yet. I think the D needs to show it can actually stop those qbs who run first. Idaho was a great maturation game, but I want to see more of it. Hope to drink the kool aid soon!

Cats aren't going to run all over Griz again, but I agree their run game is very good and will be hard to keep in check. That's okay. That's why they play the game.

Davis now at 105 for 9.5 per carry. Very good
