Sac to the Mac

Yes, but that's not what I was responding to. I was responding to the gross exaggerations about the number of high school stadiums and high school atmospheres. Saying 90% are high school stadiums is total BS.
Hyperbole is the way narratives are promoted on eGriz. Facts can be stubborn things.

Such a flawed philosophy, let's wait another 4-5 years and hope for the P4 to split. What if the don't split, than what. If they do split, what is UM master's plan to upgrade facilities to be invited. Look around at what NDSU did, what North Dakota just did with their new facilities or Tarleton State just updated.
UND plays football in a hockey rink. You won't have to wait that long for the big boys to decide who gets to sit at the adult table.

UND plays football NEXT to an amazing hockey rink. And while I’m not the biggest fan of domes; in North Dakota I understand it and I think UND’s is very nice.

It’s nice for an FCS dome but it is nowhere near the standard to be a nice FBS dome.

Have you ever been in it?
I saw the Griz play there 2 years in a row. The walkoff field goal in 2014 was fun. I also saw the Griz play NDSU in 2014. Alerus Center is definitely an FCS venue while the Fargodome felt more like it could be FBS. The DakotaDome is an even worse facility than Alerus Center but like it has been said domes are nice in the Dakotas.

The correct number is 80%-81% of FCS stadiums are smaller than the largest high school stadiums. So while 90% is an exaggeration it is not terribly far off.

What your were responding to is that everyone in the Big Sky besides MSU and UM as well as everyone in the MVFC except the 3 remaining Dakota schools when they have a big game have an atmosphere and crowd similar or worse than a top tier high school such as Hamilton in Arizona. I do not care about the FCS conferences outside of Big Sky and MVFC but you are right the same HBCU and Ivy games draw large crowds.

I don’t have enough knowledge to compare domes if I’m honest. They are all just kinda “meh” to me. But I have been in both the FD and the Allerus and I thought the Allerus seemed much nicer. But as I said I was watching the game and not really paying attention to all the ins and outs of the facilities

Alerus Center is newer but the Fargodome is almost twice as big. Montana’s playoff game in Fargo had over 18,000 attendance which is quite a bit for the second round of the playoffs.

C’mon pal! Everyone has his own Top 10 FCS Domes list! Fargodome looks like the Honda Center in that neither are domes, so it’s down my list of domes. Gotta be a dome. That’s a sticking point for me when I do my monthly FCS dome evals.

Always knew you were a domer 😆

They recently did a big renovation of the Alerus Center and made it much, much nicer. IMO, it wouldn't take much to turn it into a FBS stadium. At least not for the MAC.

We've got 30k students and roughly 20M taxpayers in CA that will financially back this move. Not worried about the financials one bit.
What a California response there. At some point those tax payers want to see a ROI or they push to stop having their dollars go to frivolous things like this. Students the same. Most appear to be going to Sac for an education as opposed to the athletics experience judging by your ticket sales. Are Western Michigan and Ohio University going to change that???

You also have 23 universities in the California University System, and the largest of those were running huge deficits in their athletic departments for years in the FBS in a power 5 conference. You guys going to the MAC with no support from that conference is nothing like Cal/Standord or USC/UCLA running to the ACC or B1G where they got big $$$.
