Sac State's Schedule

Just posted... Good to see some BSC teams putting together great schedules. SAC's schedule includes matchups with members of the Pac 10, Big East, Big 12, and WCC. They open the season at Kansas State, make trips to USF, Pacific, host Santa Clara, and close out the OCC schedule with games against Stanford, Oregon, and Marquette.

Over on BSCFans, there's a tad bit of controversy because it seems that NAU and UNC are being punk-a$$ slowpokes about putting out their schedules; they're the only ones left who have failed to do so. Amazing considering that NAU is making a big deal about taking part in that bogus BracketBuster cr@p.

Sac State's schedule is getting tougher every time you pick up the local paper. When are they going to get a Coach who cares if the players go to class?

Kris Groce, Sacramento State's starting point guard the second half of last season, is academically ineligible to play for the Hornets this season.

Groce, who averaged 10.8 points and 4.2 assists in 15 games last season, is the second Sac State men's basketball starter to become academically ineligible. Center Angel Alamo, who contributed 9.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, also will miss this season.

GB, it's embarassing and needs to be adressed... We also lost Davon Roberts. He transferred to an NAIA school (Azusa Pacific). This is shaping up to be a tough year of bball for Sac State

ALL new assistant coaches, Losing three returning starters to grades/transfers/attitudes...

Our Starting 5 (and back ups) looks like this IMO...

PG Rod Adams/Alonzo Young/Vinnie McGhee, Jr.
SG Loren Leath/Donald Thomas/Yannick Kasongo/Darnell Ferguson
SF Clark Woods/Justin Williams/Jason Davis
PF Randy Adams/Curtis Harrison/
PF Justin Eller/Wandji Aboubakar/

I think McGhee and Ferguson will RS. We have NO center.

I can't imagine Jerome's job is safe. What about your AD? Is he catching some heat too?

Jerome's job is definately NOT safe. Anything less than a home playoff game and I think he's out...

Terry "Winless" Wanless took some heat for waiting so long to hire Sperbeck, but it's looking like he made a good decision. I think Wanless is doing a decent job. A lot of the 2nd tier sports programs (Volleyball, Gymnastics, Tennis, Crew, etc) are doing really well and consistently winning Conference championships. I guess he's sort of achieving his overall goal by producing successful student athletes and advancing the facilities, but the big money makers (football and basketball) better start winning soon...

Until you put a winning basketball program on the floor, get a decent place to play, and hire someone who knows how to market Sac State in this market, basketball is not going to be a revenue enhancer. You cannot make money drawing 1000 for Men's BB and 100 for Women's BB.

Your VB Coach is stepping down and that can have a major impact on the program. Case in point, msu after Dave Gannt stepped down, they were contenders each season, now are floormats. Whoever follows that lady has their work cut out for them.
