There's nothing wrong with Cam, but Thomson is a proven All-American FCS QB, whose only competition for the Payton this year would likely be Trey Lance.

I highly doubt Thomson will end up here (he seems to want to go to an FBS school), but if he wanted to come here, I think we'd be stupid not to take him.

That would be an easy sell. Damn I hope the Hauck unlv connection lands him for the Griz.

Whoever ends up in the starting role it will definately be an interesting journey!

Ditto that. I hope that his major consideration is where can he not only start but also win a chipper. Could be a perfect storm here fellas
 
If Thompson would go to Montana, they are a legit contender with ndsu, sdsu and Montana are top 3 contenders.
So many of the pundits think he's going fbs, but if he does go to Montana to go with akem, toure good luck in stopping them.

Also consider its relatively late to jump in the portal I’m thinking any fbs schools who want him to start for them probably won’t be that good of a team. And the bigger schools like Oregon, UW, WSU he probably would have to compete like Snead did when he came in. I’m thinking the more you look it over and over this thing might have legs. I wish. Lol
 
Interested to see where Thomson will end up.

Whether he comes here or not, our championship hopes and dreams still live and die on the LOS. If we arent able to better stop the run, out pressure on the QB, as well as protect our offensive playmakers then it wont matter.

We had a pretty damn good QB last year and the scats dominated us. Have to think it would have been a closer game if we could force teams into being one dimensional.

I think it would be pretty tough at this point for Thompson to come in and learn a new offense. We’ve got just a couple months until game time. How’s he supposed to pick up an offense that quick and execute it?

Well geez, seems pretty dumb for the guy to transfer anywhere now..ya know, since he would never be able to pick up an offense over the next couple months. Also for further reference, it is Thomson.

I think it would be easier at literally any other position than QB to transfer this close to the season. Just saying it would be tough to come into a program and win the starting job at that position with only a couple of months to learn the offense, unless of course every other QB is just hot garbage

I feel like Choate is the kind of guy who would lurk around Sacramento for leisure. Seems like a big Reno/Orlando/Cruise Ship kind of dude.
 
I know it probably won't happen, but I'd like to see UCLA give Thomson a shot. Sure, DTR is supposed to be all-world, but I'm pretty sure he has a RS left. Not sure how the politics would work if you bring in a new guy specifically to take DTR's place, however. Heck, I don't even know if Thomson is good enough to take his place in the first . . . place.
