I got the scoop now.

Bausley hit a 3 and they counted as 4 points. Problem solved. :thumb:

Okay, that explains it. It did seem like Sac got a ton of points on Tracker all at once. But of course, the way it updates, you just never know if that's your only source.

Nice win by the Griz, but I'm a little disappointed in how much they had to rely on Criswell and Strait, particularly in the 2nd half when there was almost no scoring from others.

Just got home from the game. As far as the final score goes, the only one that counts is the Official Scorers book, SAC and UM's books mean nothing. The score should never have been that close. I was probably 10 feet from the basket on the goal tending call and the foul on the bunny. That is possibly a 7 point swing as they came down and hit a 3. Sac played hard, but so did the Griz. We only turn it over 11 times, only 5 of them from starters. I think we got the best of Freeman again, he had 4 turnovers himself, 5 fouls and Eliis picking his pocket near the end of the game was huge. We did not get our usual bench play but we got the W. I think Krysko was right about the post bobcat hangover. Our guys really need to step up our efforts on blocking out against Oral Roberts. They are arebounding machine. That was one area we really hurt ourselves tonight. SAC has a lot of athletic guys, you have got to get a body on them or they go right around you for the board. Good win though!!

Attendance 4121, not bad for a Wed. night on the eve of a severe winter storm. If the game had been tomorrow night during the storm there might have been less than 2000.

Also just back from the game. Sac loses a lot of close games. I wonder if the victorsagainst them always feel that they won "ugly". Sac is extremely quick. Having Ellis at the point for most of the 2nd half made a big difference tonight. Criswell was huge down the stretch. Strait also had a great game. Dlouhy had one of his better games as of late. The non-goal tending calls were unbelievable. The refs sucked (as usual in the Big Sky) and Sac suffered at their hands too. I wonder if Virgil hasn't had a cold or something. He has struggled these last few games. Anyway, a win!

A little more good news. With that win, the Griz are guaranteed a home playoff game at a minimum. :thumb:

That means, if Montana Gym Rat is 100% right, That the Griz will be 1st place, third place, or Fourth place. A second place finish is a guarantee of being on the road for a playoff game, so, again, if Montana Gym Rat is correct, then second place is out of the question.

 You know what I meant. All the thinking about scenarios left me with no brain power to write a detailed enough post to clarify. :thumb:

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Kevin Criswell scored 28 points and Andrew Strait added 25 Wednesday to lead Montana to an 84-79 victory over Sacramento State in a game marred by questions over the final score.

The scoreboard operator subtracted a point from Sacramento State (14-12, 5-7 Big Sky) with 1:57 to play after the scorekeeper told him the scoreboard did not agree with his book.

That changed the score to 75-69, and led to a different strategy after Clark Woods of the Hornets hit a 3-point basket with 11 seconds remaining to cut Montana's lead to 80-79.

The Hornets had to foul Criswell to stop the clock and Criswell, who didn't miss a free throw, sank four of them in the final 9.6 seconds.

The official scorekeeper had Sacramento State's DaShawn Freeman making 1-of-2 free throws with 5:14 to play. The stat crew, everyone on press row and the scorekeeper saw him make both free throws. Had the point been left up, Woods' 3-pointer would have tied the score at 80 and the Hornets wouldn't have had to foul.

Criswell was 8-of-15 from the field, made all nine of his free throws, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists for the Grizzlies (18-5, 8-3).

Alex Bausley led Sacramento State with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Jason Harris added 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Montana scored 11 unanswered points to pull away from a 56-all tie and take a 67-56 lead with 6:55 remaining on a basket by Strait, who made 10-of-18 shots and also grabbed 10 rebounds.

A 3-pointer by Criswell gave the Grizzlies their largest lead at 72-59 with 5:21 left, but Bausley scored nine of his points in the last 3:41, including two 3-pointers.

Matt Dlouhy added 13 points for Montana, which led 40-36 at halftime.

Jason Gilzene and Freeman added 10 points each for the Hornets, who have lost seven of their last eight games.
