Sac State Hires Brennan Marion

I pay no attention to such things, and have no clue. This hypothetical of replacing Hauck tomorrow ranks up there with discussions over the jersey colors and music at games. I don't even open the threads. I skip to the next thread, put on more sunscreen and get back to trip planning.
It's very interesting to me, and I'm sure many here, why you feel the need to boast about your allegedly fabulous lifestyle. No one likes a bragger, especially one that is bragging about things that are commonplace and not worth bragging about.

It's not bragging. I'm bugging people like you. I'm good at it. It's funny to me that you haven't figured out more of my posting style and that you don't realize how many of my posts are meant to be (semi) funny and to poke fun at other posters, as well as myself. And, you think putting on sunscreen in the winter is commonplace. It is down here, but not in MT.

What new fresh young head coaches have won National Titles? NDSU and SDSU strictly hire from within the family.
I'm not saying that we need to hire a shiny new coach, in fact I'd hope that Haslams first call for an interview would be to Chuck Morrell if the job was to open up, and he's not exactly a spring chicken, but I think he's a good coach, and he has experience in Montana.

I think Tyler Roehl would fall more into the "young coach" category, but he'd be someone worth interviewing as well.

You do you man. Glad I'm not in Montana wearing a jacket and gloves right now either.

This is exactly the type of hire a school like Sac State should be making. They’re not going to be able to beat the DSU’s at the same style of game, so get a little “gimmicky” with a good recruiting coach who’s going to make guys want to come to Sac.

I’m not positive he’d be a great hire here, although I suspect he would be, but he’s a great hire for what Sac needs.

Gimmicky has a short shelf life. The good teams will figure it out.

You can have a spread out pass heavy offense without it being gimmicky. Ohio State, Kalen DeBoer, and Texas are traditionally more in this thread, when I think gimmicky that is more of a triple option or Bob Stitt style offense.

"You do you", is one of the dumbest common things I see on the internet now, in my view. Yes, I will continue to do my caricature that developed on egriz. Some understand the schtick; some like you don't. I never wanted to be an actor, but here I am.

His success all depends on if he can recruit guys Sac State could be a sleeping giant since there is so much football talent in the immediate area but Sac State has historically been an afterthought in NorCal sports. Is this the guy to change that?

..if the Griz were looking I be looking on the sidelines of SDSU, NDSU..
seeing what young talented coaches they had...and take the gamble..
we really haven't been contenders since Pflugard....Oh I'm sorry last
year we made it to the big dance...how easily forgotten after this year...

This strategy has been fairly successful at the FBS level. Look at all the successful head coaches that have been pulled off of Saban's staffs as well as Kirby Smarts. They have gotten to see and learn first hand what it takes to win a championship. They know what a championship roster looks like and how to recruit for it. They understand the types of people that need to be on staff, the time management, the list goes on and on. You don't have to come from this type of background to be successful, but it certainly is a lot easier when you know how the sausage is made.

And yet you opened this thread and responded. And then responded 2 more times.....so, there's that....
