Sac State (7-4) at North Dakota (7-4) Game thread

Sac back up by 7 early in the 4th. UND had two dirty plays on that last drive. Both face masks and only one called. Thank God these refs aren’t detectives. UND literally holding the Sac State’s players helmet in the end zone after a TD run. Then throws the helmet in the end zone. No penalty. Ridiculous.

Pleased for Sac State. Was expecting a close game and it certainly was. What I watched of the 2nd half the game was devoid of defense.

By the way, you were thinking of the Missouri Valley conference. It’s a fact they don’t lose to Big Sky teams. They just don’t.

There’s a decent chance 3 of the 4 teams in the semifinals will be from the BSC.

I’m thinking most likely it’ll be a split of 50/50 BSC and MVFC.

This result helps Bozeman, not with reality or housing prices but at least it will make the MVC look weaker. Their trolls (they don't have actual fans) can have a whole week of "Well, Sac St beat UND and UND beat NDSU and we beat Sac St, so we will win."

They won't.

So much for the “Hornets don’t belong in the playoffs” narrative spewed from the pundits and haters following the selection show. (Interesting that all 4 bubble teams won their game today, selection committee got it right.)

We were down 3 starters in the secondary today. No idea if they will be back for the game at USD. Lots of injuries on that side of the ball. Defensive line lost a starter today, not sure how bad. UND took over the momentum with the ground and pound in the 3rd quarter, not sure why they went away from that. Oh well, we’ll take the dub.

KB is nearly unstoppable when healthy. I liked our chances with him getting the start over Conklin, glad I was right with that one. Hornet play calling was straight forward without the gimmicks and frills we’ve seen most of the year which is exactly what it should have been given the pretty even matchup with UND. RPO with KB in the groove is hard to defend.

Coach Thompson matched Taylors playoff win total in his first try.

Hornet defense needs to show up to have a chance in Vermillion, not sure if we’ll have the bodies to withstand their onslaught next week. Survive and advance.
