I did these stats last weekend, but didn't get around to organizing and posting them.
SS was averaging 275 yards rushing per game before the UM game. Averaging 262 now. In conference play (3 games), SS was averaging 315 yards per game.
SS got 180 yards against UM, 25 of which came in OT. In 31 attempts. So, for regulation game comparison only, 155 yards, in 27 attempts. I think 180 was the 3d lowest average of the season for SS.
SS was averaging yards 5.37 per carry, coming into the UM game. SS averaged 5.8 in the UM game. So, SS averaged about the same again the Griz.
Attebro was averaging 137 per game, in conference play prior to the UM game. 124 yards per game overall coming into Griz game. Averaging 122 and 7.8 per carry now. Against UM, he had 111 yards in 13 carries, 1 of which was in OT. 8.46 per carry. He had no TD's against UM, running or receiving.
So, the Griz held SS to 95 yards under its season rushing average, and 135 yards under its conference rushing average. A big drop off. Attebro, who is obviously very good, was held under his rushing average by a bit too. 26 under his conference rushing average.
SS passed for 299 again the Griz. Averaging 252 now. So, SS got over 50 more yards than their average, against UM.
SS was scoring over 48 per game coming into the Griz game. Got 31 against Griz, in OT. Was the lowest points of season for SS. Their second lowest was 37 against No. Iowa. Only EWU (28) and Utah Tech scored more against SS. UM got 24.
In my view, UM did well against SS's running game, except in OT when SS ran 4 good running plays in a row. In my view, UM got beat by giving up too many longer passes, and getting too many PI penalties.
Looking at these stats, UM's D played very well against SS.
