Sac/PSU game thread

Frankly, I think it's one of the most relevant topics discussed on the BB board.

All off season we bitch about how shitty the bsc RPIs are, how completely irrelevant and unknown the conference is, and yet we allow teams to have facilities that are not NAIA suitable. To ignore the connection between lack of respect from the outside and the obvious lack of respect from many of those inside the conference seems shortsighted to me. Personally, I think a discussion about how we can improve the BSC is the perhaps the most important one we as fans can have.

EG you are right. The trick is figuring how to do that without it turning into a pissing contest. Then if by chance that happens, how to make it a priority to the powers to be of the conference. The subject is not the problem. What the subject turns into is the challenge.

That and making progress without CDA being an obnoxious jerk.

Pssh, whatever, bro. I don't even see how saying Sac's facilities suck is a "pissing contest." The facilities objectively do suck. They suck. Suck, suck, suck. They know the facilities suck. They knew when they joined the BSC, and did nothing about it. They admit that. Now that the BSC will allow them to host in the rec hall, they have absolutely no pressure to improve. Sac fans are admitting all of this. Sorry you get bent out of shape so quickly when people aren't posting what you want them to post.

Back to Xs and Os and how we should really try to make all of our free throws and we should rebound better and not turn the ball over. Fucking riveting.

Again, nothing wrong with the issue. I could care less what someone's opinion is on any subject. Just don't like seeing some back and forth jabbing about the programs, and/or individual posters. Different strokes, different folks. :thumb:

You are precisely right about this CDA....I still say when the BSC decided to allow the Hornets into the conference they should have said this " We will allow you to join our conference with your present facilities but at the end of 10 years if your facilities are not up to our standards we reserve the right to drop you from the conference for future contests." If the BSC had done that then I would understand your outrage, but where has the outrage been all the years you were stomping our asses??? Did you just come to the realization that we may be able to beat you one year or another??? It's too late now I realize, especially now that the BSC has endorsed the Well as an adequate alternative. If you are SO outraged then I would suggest you convince your AD to NOT participate in the BSC tournament.....now that might really have an impact.

I have NEVER heard a fan of any BSC school, other than Sac ST, complain about our gym until this year. If you can prove me wrong I will kiss you rear on the main street of your choosing.

This ought to get you researcher types scrambling....lol

Better go back and read through some GRIZ/Sac State basketball game threads. There is usually a complaint about Sac States gym every game. :thumb:

Same thing on the Weber board. And I'm willing to wager it's the same on bcn and ewoo's board.

Seriously, sac, it's hardly a surprise that your gym is a complete joke.

That said, I'm gonna go ahead and take a pass on the ass kissing.... :o

Geez folks. The Sac State gym looks to be a clean, well-lit facility. It would easily hold the typical home game crowd at any Big Sky school.

This was a great thread from last year. Even it mentions the shitty gym, and it wasn't even during a game against the Griz.

I like it when Sack State fans log on to the Griz board to complain about Griz fans complaining about Sack State's crappy Old Men's Gym, where Sack State hopes to host a tournament that ESPN will be too embarrassed to televise.

OK, I'll give you your 1 fan said our gym looked like a high school gym.....not quite the vitriol I've seen the last week.....even you didn't follow up the fan's comment about our gym.....guess it doesn't matter unless your butt hurt having to come to California to see your Griz......I probably won't see you in Sac......but if you do come I would be happy to meet you and buy you a hot dog or a beer....this isn't to discount the argument but how many rows of fans can you see in a tv broadcast anyway.....I'm watching Oregon and Stanford right now and can see maybe 6 rows on one side of the court and 4 rows on the ends.....

OK Statesman, I'll take you up on this (IF the tourney is in Sacramento and IF I can break free to get there). Post a list of decent budget hotels, some nice places to eat, some great watering holes that'll tolerate Griz fans, and perhaps some other "stuff to do" in Sacramento. I don't mind attending the tourney in a rec center. For the pure love of hoops...

Here's what you need to know: go to Old Sac. True, only 1 out of every 5 places are still in business, but there is a good coffee shop there.

Beyond that, prepare to make your own fun.

Oh, Streets of London is worth a stop, but primarily because they have Belhaven on tap.

Give him a break, GJ. They're rather unaccustomed to hosting tournaments.

See my notes above. Truly, that's all you need to know about Sacto.

Well, that, and the Embassy Suites near the Tower Bridge is the only hotel in that town I trust. 'Cause there are some scary ones. And I ain't talking about just scratch towels....
