Ryan @ Conrad High school?

Off topic but is the Panther still open in valier? I ate there every time we went to visit the grand parents.
I miss the old trips from missoula to lincoln to sun river and then to valier to visit family.

Conrad at one time had a 31 game win streak. They used to know how to play football. Ryan will bring that back.

They used to be a team that no one wanted to play. They always seemed to have huge well coached lines and knew how to win.

We weren't afraid to run it down your throat. That much is for sure, but I wouldn't say our lines were huge. We had an intensity level that was unmatched. We wanted to be the hardest hitting team on the field. If you weren't bruised and dizzy by end of the game, then we didn't do our job. If your QB wasn't running for his life, we weren't doing our job. The only thing that ever beat us was speed. Somehow all that went away and Conrad football was no longer a team to be feared. Griz or Cat, I don't care, it would be nice to see someone bring back some of the oldschool football values to my hometown. If that guy is Featherston, then I wish him the very best. Just make sure you kill the Coyotes.

Chinook doesn't co-op for anything. In all actuality, neither does Chester. The high school is officially Chester/J-I, meaning that is the only school available to those kids. They don't go to another school then play football at Chester. The Joplin-Inverness schools are closed. Malta on the other hand does co-op for football with Saco and whitewater and it's been a huge advantage for them.

Featherston picked an excellent place to begin his coaching career. The previous posters were correct in that Conrad had great football teams in the Don Hammer era.....60's,70's, and I think even the eighties.
Their enrollment numbers are starting to creep up....they just need a good coach!!! Malta and Fairfield have the best two coaches in Class B IMO. Fairfield [Les Meyer} can really coach the quarterbacks.... and Malta [Scott King] is a great motivator. Havgriz is right......they have really taken advantage of bringing in the kids from Whitewater & Saco....the Siewing twins are a fine example. Hell....even the Utterback boys (3) from Fort Benton father came from Conrad and are the biggest reason why the Longhorns were such a force from 2000-2007!!!

We thought we were going to get a shot at Conrad in '95 but they lost to bigfork and we played them instead. I was kinda bummed.

Back then, Frenchtown was the team everyone had their eyes on. Sort of like today's Fairfield. We wanted to play you too, bug forgot to show up in BigFork.

Oh yeah, Frenchtown was always good. I recall hearing people say that the Malta/Frenchtown Semi that year was the true championship game. I was glad Big Fork at least gave them a close game.
