Run Defense

With the inabilities to convert on 4th down, the turnovers and the injuries, will the D's performance against the run get discussed? 250 yards plus by WSU. Jeez....

Nearly every time the QB went back to pass, you could see all he wanted to do was run the ball. I'd be interested to know if they picked up even one first down in the game that wasn't the trick play or a swing pass.

He probably picked up at least five first downs with his legs, and it never seemed like we were doing anything to stop it; often on third down.

@ least the Weber QB had someplace to run. Our QB's and backs had to thread the needle or they were trapped for a loss.

I thought the run D was really good in the 2nd half. Lots of 3 and outs. Of course, their guy broke a couple, but overall I felt it was a good effort. The loss today was on the offense.

How many points has the defense given up in the second half of games played so far vs. how many points the offense has scored? Defense has kept the Griz respectable the last 3 years and are continuing to do so this year.

If the Defense gives up just two scores, that should be enough. Those double tight end sets were brutal on Montana's defensive front, basically 2 to one every third play. That's tough, especially when your DTs are under 300 pounds.

Great point....DT size is an issue...
