Rules Question on 2 Point Conversion Interception

Why doesn't that interception count as an INT for Van Ackern?

And why doesn't it count as an INT against the QB?

Does it count as a pass attempt in the official stats?

Another question: The play by play has the fly sweep to Roberts as a rushing play when it's not. It's a pass play, correct?

The answer...because the rules state that no yardage, tackles, interceptions, pass attempts, etc. etc etc that occur during a 2 point try count towards individual or team statistics...

I noticed the stats had it wrong too. This is at least the second time this year the play has been counted incorrectly as a run instead of a pass. Caleb Lyons had a 15 yard reception against UC Davis counted as a run.

At least the points count (whichever teams gets them :) ).

WHich is interesting, because had VA run that INT back for 2 points for Montana, it STILL wouldn't have counted in his personal stats? Or team stats? But we'd get points for it? That just doesn't make any sense...

I thought as soon as it's intercepted the play is dead?
Used to be that way I think but not anymore
Been a long time -- in college football -- that a defensive reversal on a two point conversion has been allowed. Blocked punt, interception or even a fumble returned by the D gives them two points. It's true, as I recall, that those turnovers kill the play in high school football ... but not college.

Trying to dig through the NCAA online rules is a PITA, so could not settle one possible exception. It may well be that an interception in the end zone is dead in the college game.
