Cochran mentioned during his conversation with Hauck in the latest podcast that the rule change that may have the biggest impact on the game this season is the running clock after first downs, except within two minutes left to play in each half. NCAA says it will take about eight plays out of each game, Hauck feels like it will be fifteen. Even in an age of "go fast" for most offenses, losing seven or eight snaps a game is going to be a big deal. I think it puts extra pressure on Pease and his offense to be productive every series. Three and out's become even more magnified. It will hopefully light a fire under those who spend the third quarter in the parking lots to get back in before the end of it. Yeah... I know. Who am I kidding?
Can't call consecutive timeouts anymore either, though I'm not sure that's an issue for anything other than the game of icing a kicker.
The one I'm still laughing about is the new "Drone Policy." Drones are not allowed over the field or the team area when squad members are present within the playing enclosure. Outside the limit lines, game management (or conference policy) will govern drone activity. There goes a chance at seventeen cameras I guess.
