I'd have to see another angle. From that angle, it merely appeared as if the best receiver who ever lived reached for the ball. But the reach was obscured by the defender's body. It would have been quite easy for Pearson to have either caught it cleanly OR pushed off, and we'd never be able to tell from that angle. I've seen this play from another angle, and I believe that he was clean. But this one is atrocious, to say the least.

BTW, I liked the Hail Mary vs. Atlanta better. (If only because it featured DW vice RS.) Unfortunately, I don't have footage of that play.
