RPI after the Griz-Panther game, Not that it matters at all

based on RPI rankings on www.midmajority.com and www.collegerpi.com (both of these sites I consider to be the most accurate in RPI rankings than any other sites. you do have to pay for the most updated info on collegerpi.com).

Griz were ranked #93 in RPI before game, Dropped to #114. Losing at home is not good, even to a team that was ranked #28 before the game but now is ranked #12. Yes, winning on the road is great.

PSU now has the highest RPI in the Big Sky Conference, ranked at #102.

Griz loss at home was bad in respect to the RPI. But, when considering preparation for Conference, it wasn't so bad.

Those are all nice stats to read about, but in the end, they don't matter to us. No Big Sky team will get in the Big Dance without a tourney championship anyway. Great experience for the Griz and now a good start to conference is a must. If we can get a 3-0 start in conference with a win at Bozeman, we'd be in great shape obviously.

It might make a difference in the end, if it helps determine our racking among the 16 teams in our bracket.

To some degree, but a 13 seed would be an absolute top for us I have to believe. But yeah, not having to play a number one seed would be nice. Good point. I don't care how bad Stanford is, our win over them will help. Also, our road win over Santa Clara (they were beating Bucknell???) will be big for us as well.

Santa Clara is ranked #161 in the RPI. The Grizzly's best win is against Drake which is ranked #111.

Now that Non-conference games are over for most teams, RPI changes become less of a factor from now. NCAA tournament selection committee take non-conference games into more consideration than conference games.

The EPSN bracket buster is pretty much the only remaining games to really help out the RPI, which is a big reason for the EPSN bracket buster.

In addition, the RPI is only one of criteria used in selection. Griz showing against Washington last year may have some positive influences on the committee.

Quality wins in non-conference helps a lot, except Montana really missed a golden opportunity to get a quality win. That is, beating somebody ranked higher than 100. Montana doesn't have a quality win yet. I guess some of you may consider Drake a quality win, but I don't. Good win for the Griz, but not the kind of quality win to get the Griz seeded higher than 14.

The griz definently have a shot at running the Big Sky conference this year. I see PSU contending but after that it looks like nothing is out there. Unless the cats pick it up and start playing the way they were suppose to then i dont see anybody beating this grizzly team besides PSU.

Running the conference? as in 14-0? I can see us running away with the conference, but not going undefeated. You really honestly think we are gonna be 24-2? and then 26-2? We'd have just about the best record in the country if that happened. Let's not get too ridiculous in our expectations about this team. We are a solid, quality team, but we're probably not gonna blow too-many teams away. We are gonna be in plenty of dog-fights. At Eastern is never easy. At ISU will not be easy. At MSU is never easy for us. At PSU will be very tough. If we go 2-2 out of those 4, I'd take it.

Yes, we are clearly the best team in the conference and should be favored in just about every game from here on in, but I'd take 10-4 or better. Everyone is gonna be gunning for us. We are gonna have off-nights. We're gonna get homered now and then. Someone is gonna go-off for another team occasionally. Someone on our team might get injured. There are just too many variables to predict going undefeated.

20-6 and then 22-6 going into the NCAAs would be my prediction.

If you didnt catch the HAVE A CHANCE in there you might wanna read it again. I understand that winning on the road is never easy and that everybody is going to play their best when against us and all of that but from what I have seen so far from the Big Sky teams is nothing really at all outside of PSU beating Oregon. I can see the grizzlies dropping two road games and maybe have a bad night and lose at home but they still do have a shot at running the table.
