Roy Booker is Gone

The GF Tribune reported today that Roy Booker has left the basketball team. I'm not sad to see him go.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Sounds like he was the source of a lot of problems in his short stay. Too bad, he was talented.

Check out this paragraph on Chavez, which appeared in the middle of Scott Manch's Booker story.

"Meanwhile, Krystkowiak said former Browning and Heart Butte prep star Mike Chavez, who is no longer on scholarship, continues to work out in hopes of playing for the Grizzlies last year. Chavez left the team for personal reasons last fall."

I'm thinking Mike isn't going to make last year's team.

Chavez was a coach this week in the Griz team competition camp - in fact his 5 on 5 team won the "college" division. It is good to see that he is still involved with the team, hope he makes it back on the court this fall.

I just got back tonight from Heart Butte and I brought the subject up to one of the elders. Asked him if he thought Mike would get it together enough to play this yr. He told me that Chavez just got another DUI in I think GF. I don't remember seeing anything on this but who knows.
