Roster updated?

Only guys I’m not seeing is Mykal Tolliver, and Garrison Poetzl and not seeing Beau Braden.

A couple of surprises Max Gardiner WR I believe he transferred in from Linfield where he played baseball. Also Ryan Ressler a CB walkon from Fort Collins Colorado

Ya I didn’t see Braden either. His twitter profile still says he’s a D end at UM. I hope it’s a mistake or some reason he’s not on the roster yet. I was excited for him.

Did you see Hunter Allen? I don’t remember seeing home either.

Tolliver was a volunteer coach during practices last season, as he essentially retired from football. Poetzl has also decided to walk away from football.

Peyton Brammer Is also not on the roster. I’m thinking he was gonna GS this year and that might be why. I know sometimes GS’s aren’t listed like Kaschmitter was not listed some of last year. Hoping this is the case cus the kid was a steal as a 3* recruit to play TE for us.

I think those weights are from last fall. The 1 thing good about moving the season to spring is they'll have more time to add the pounds and more time in the weight room.

Garrison Poetzl’s football career is over after yet another serious injury.

There is more chatter here regarding CBs, but recruiting quality D1 DTs is consistently our biggest challenge.

Agreed. CB’s are sexier to talk about, but true quality DT’s have been a rarity.

Typical Taber won’t engage with fans. UM has a serious problem with how they won’t accept exposure. It’s simple to update a roster to keep fans interested and media talking about the team which in turn is a good thing. MSU has figured that out.

And do not even get me started to how they treat media. Some prominent sports journalists and radio personalities have explained that to me. It’s the reason Tootell and Nuanez has more MSU players and staff on their show when they are IN Missoula and their listeners are more Griz fans than not.

I was watching the 2 hour ESPN MISSOULA - Tootel and Nuanez show on TV yesterday and was taken back by ALL the MSU coverage they were doing -- a long interview with Kenneth Eiden, followed by another long one with Kane Ione. UM is severely missing out if they are turning away or not seeking out this kind of media attention!!

I am now a new huge fan of Eiden. He was well spoken for a HS kid and humble.

Eiden was profusely comlimentary of Butte High after having faced them I'm the championship. He talked about the crowd of 10 thousand was amazing, couldn't hear yourself, Butte's football history, and facing Tommy Mellot (who he called a once in a generation player). Nuanez called Mellot the most elusive and athletic Montana HS QB in 10 years. I am assuming he meant since Bozeman and Nevada/MSU QB Tanner Roderick.

I am a big fan of that Missoula sports talk radio show, UM needs to be more a part of it.

You are right in that Grey Shirts are not listed on the roster their first Fall, because they are not part of the team yet. They become part of the team the following Spring and thus can be listed then.

Yes only 4 DTs including one who played QB in HS. Very light: Gubner and Alford are 285; Ambuehl is 248; and Brown is 235.
Two freshman are listed as “DL.” Nuce is 235 and Grimsrud is 240.

Good news is we are bigger on the other side of the line than we have been in over a decade. I count 8 lads who get over three spins:
Forbes the new guy from NE is 310,
Ganoung is listed at 320,
Kanouse 318,
Pillans 333,
Anderson 301,
Keintz 304,
Mallory 350 (yes please!), and
Beaver 301.
I would be punctilious in postulating that this is the most over-3-billers we’ve had in about a decade. Rejoice!
