Roster Changes?

So, the comments in another thread about Nick Holt got me to thinking, so I went back and compared the 2012 roster underclassmen with the CURRENT roster posted on gogriz.com, and came up with these names that are no longer listed:

Mike Stallone, WR, Freshman
Ryan Herrera, WR, Freshman
Nick Holt, LB, Freshman
Dan Morstein, C, Freshman
Hayden Craig, TE, Freshman
Trevor Poole, OL, Soph

Now Craig and Poole we know about...anybody know anything about the other names? Or are these just errors on gogriz?

No clue on Holt but I think Stallone, Herrera, and Morstein all went to the practice squad.

After a quick Google search, Stallone tweeted 20 hrs ago that he's excited for spring ball and Holt's Facebook still says he's studying at UM.

Why would the differentiate between practice squad and "team"? Are we bound by some artificial limit even if they're not on scholly?

Yes there is a roster maximum...scholly or not. I believe the number is 90.

A Recruiting Coach once said to me "my job is to recruit better players this year; then he brought in last year (if possible)" if not your program stagnates & you get passed up. Truth is every program has a few guys that dont have their offers renewed. That may be the case for a few of these young men.

Personally, I appreciate all the young men whom are confident enought to play college football & wish them all the best in their pursuit for playing time & education.
