Root sports and ESPN + question

UPDATE:. Techie son put Nord VPN on the laptop, selected Atlanta for location, and we logged into ESPN+ and tried to watch the Cat game from last Saturday (which I couldn't access previously) and it worked. I make no guarantees that it will work live, but this is promising.

It will work live. 8-)

After watching the cat game, did you scan your laptop for viruses?

What? Virtual Protocol Networks don't give you viruses. And neither does Watch ESPN.

Quick update: Root Sports is active on fuboTV. If you go that route, you can stream it anywhere you want. I’m currently watching 2018 Montana v Sac State

Perfect timing. I was wondering how to watch those ROOT Sports broadcasts if I were staying home. Looks like I'll be doing a 3rd Free Trial with Fubo for the Southern Utah game!

I wouldn't get excited about Fubo based on Root appearing now and being able to watch old games. It might be blacked out in MT like others have said.

With my VPN off, Fubo shows Root.

With my VPN on, it doesn't matter what location I choose, there is no Root on Fubo, not even in their home market of Seattle.

Ok... The definitive answer to this entire thread is...

If you have a VPN on your router or computer set to the East Coast or wherever far far away, you will get ESPN+ for Root Games, I just did that for Eastern / Idaho.

If you don't, and you're in Montana, NO WORKIE FOR YOU for the game in 2 weeks or the Kitten game. (It says Blacked out)

So get a VPN.

THIS. I am watching the Idaho/EWU game at the moment and I wasn't logged into the VPN when I first tried it and I got the blacked out message, then I connected through the VPN and voila!

This post is correct... Except that the VPN is on your computer/device not on your router. :thumb:

You can put a VPN on your router, so everything downstream is automatically on the VPN. (And in my case, that includes the Roku, which runs the ESPN app)
