Roll with Fife

I agree--Logan is a little older, and little bigger, and has more experience than young Ah Yat.

That said, I sm really glad that we have both of them because we may need both of them again before the end of our season !!!

I hate to admit this, but after our D's showing last week and in 3 of our first 4 games so far this year, the Shi##y Kitties are the better team right NOW. ( I hope we beat them like the proverbial drum 🥁 come late Nov. In Boz Angeles in their litter box !!!)

That said, we have an advantage--two proven QB's. Tommy Mellott is having a great senior season, but if he gets hurt like he has been hurt during his first three years, I think the SK's are probably in big trouble as they have no proven backup--Sean Chambers is still a Bobcat but now he is an assistant coach

I really don't see a difference in the two, so my opinion is go with the younger Ah Yat. I don't think this team has the talent or coaching to make another run like last year so lets get the young kid more reps for next year.
I respectfully disagree, griznative.

I don't think we win that shootout last week in Cheney without Logan Fife !!! I don't think Keli'i Ah Yat could have thrown for 365 yards, 5 TD's, and no pics in that game last Saturday.

I do agree that young Ah Yat is our QB of the future !!! And I am really glad that we have both of them--without his "1B" in Bozeman, Tommy Mellott either is tired and a little banged up now or he will be in the not-to-distant future.

I am afraid you maybe right about our talent for this year and our D is going to have to play better, much, much better than it has so far. I am hoping that we have a turnaround similar to last year's, but I realize that without Alex Gubner, Braxton Hill, Cotton, etc., on our D, that might not happen this year.

After watching him dismantle Ewoo, I think this is the right call at the moment. He looked superb in his reads and ability to hit the open man (albeit against a garbage Ewoo D)

Based off what? Intuition?

Because the stats say otherwise.
How would you know? Did you play with AhYat? Did you see his growth last year that elevated him to the #2 guy?
Has he got an entire 4 quarters to showcase himself in a game like Fife did? You are comparing apples to licorice my friend

You have to respect Mellott but he has to run so much that it's hard on him, I think.

"After that game it’s clear we need to roll with Fife as QB1 for the rest of the season. He is much more of a complete QB, Ah Yat is not accurate enough on the deep ball"

Some (many) of you might want to be careful what you wish for. I agree we have two capable QB's right now and for the rest of this season barring injury. However if Fife is moved to number 1 because of an Ah Yat injury, and as I understand it he has another year of eligibility, then Ah Yat will have the off season to contemplate his future which will not look good. His Jr. year would likely be a repeat of this year and his senior year would likely face another FBS dropdown transfer to beat out because that is the way Hauck rolls. Not a very stable future to look forward to if he wants playing time and the portal might look pretty good. Of course Fife might move on as well after this year like Cliff. Just the way things are these days but I wouldn't count on both of being here next year. Why Huot didn't transfer (down) last year is beyond me unless he gets off on counting the splinters in his ass.

Except, SD, Keli'i Ah Yat was a redshirt freshman last year and since he only played in 4 regular season games--playoff games don't count, he kept his redshirt and so is a freshman again this year. He will be a sophomore next year.

But even after Logan graduates and he's a junior, he will face competition from another FBS transfer, an underclassman, or both.

Roll with Fife? How about Fife around and Find out?

Look great against Ewoo. Absolutley. I'm not sure Drake didnt' play then better in its nail bitter, but still.

If you like Pease. And Pease seems to be a popular coach these days, then trust this decision to field whomever he fields.

And/or competition could come from Mr. Huot, who will be a senior when Keli'i Ah Yat is a junior, provided Caden Huot is still a GRIZ, and I hope he is !!!
