Roll Call. Who roots for the cats outside of Griz-cat?

I used to give them a break and cheer for them many years ago until I went to a Griz - cat game in Bozeman. Never again in my lifetime will I cheer for the cats.

You can almost smell the turd water recycling plant.........

Great pic BTW, rodeo club must have organized that tailgate.

That's friggin awesome!! Love that pic. Yep, we're pretty much blue collar over here.... but IMO it beats the piss out of the flashy, big money, multi million dollar trust fund kid donor, sushi eatink, wine drinkin, purely social event that the griz games have become! :thumb: I'll take a camp fire in the parking lot and an ice cold Hamms in the zero dgree weather any time.

I actually rooted for the kitties in 1984... but that was the last time.

Their fan base is rubbish... just look at the next post...

Honestly... you sound very jealous...

Here's how I look at it. The only other team I can't stand as much as I can't stand the bobtwits is ewoo. When they play each other, I hope for a tie, but I'll never root for either one of them.

....cannot stand. My first Griz tee shirt said it all: "I have two favorite teams...the Grizzlies and whoever plays the bobcats." The tee shirt finally bit the dust, but the sentiment remains.

Some of the hazards of a UM education is success and you tend to expect more than a double wide or Hamms beer.

Hahahahaha

No better entertainment than e-griz. Actually sounds a lot like cat fans in late 70s - early 80s.

Please carry on.

So a lot of Griz posters on here sound like cat fans back when their football team was winning games on a more regular basis? Got it. :coffee:

I had one of those bad boys! wore it until it dissolved

My dad and my brother both played football for MSU; I'm proud of their accomplishments on the football field and as human beings. Never saw my dad play, of course, but happily cheered for my brother, however, that was a long time ago. My dad is long gone, but his words walk with me every day -- "be your own man, blaze your own trails and don't waste time second guessing." When I went to Missoula for college in the late 70s, I became a Griz through and through and I will die a Griz. I don't root for the Bobcats, but my dream football season would be one in which both MSU and UM come into the last Saturday before Thanksgiving undefeated and the Griz win...and then they meet again for the National Championship and the Griz move to 2 - 0 against the Bobcats for the year.

My oldest is on the field hockey team at Northwestern. Am I good to go to root for this kind of "Cat?" If we're talking about MSU , am with Archer. Sorry, I mean Brint.

More Robert Frost. Amazing.

I walked thru that shithole tailgate area in Griz gear with my wife and then teenage son in 05 on my way to the GSA tailgate. Bad move. I had no idea it would be like that or I would have went around. That day cemented for me, my wife and son our eternal hatred of the cats. Now I can take some smack talk but the vulgarity we heard that day was just classless. I had a women and a kid with me for christs sake! I was very close to ending up in jail that day. Then, to top off the day, when we got to my wifes car after the game, the windows were spit full of loogies, due to our Griz plates! As we were driving away, we were flipped off by numerous cat fans walking along the road. I told my wife then that I will never come to a Griz-cat game in bozo again and not even stop in Bozeman ever again. I haven't set foot in Bozeman since. I proudly parade the FTC plates thru on I-90 on my way to my pit stop in either Manhattan or Livingston. I wont even piss on Bozeman!!!!!

FTC Forever Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BG, if the post a few above is Robert Frost, this is Walt Whitman. Pure beauty at every turn, a bit of angst, and a tremendous ending.

I hate that place too! I've never had a good time there. I refuse to go there as well. If you look real close in that picture you can see poorgriz down on his knees in a circle jerk with a bunch of dudes.. Cat fans will do anything to stay warm!

Except LTCF and Ilovethecats they're good dudes!

After this last "brawl" I said to every bobcat fan I passed, "well, hey... I thought the cats looked pretty good.." My cousin about pissed himself laughing. Good times.

I can't lie, I've never had a bad experience in Bozeman, and I've been to quite a few Brawls there. I have a pretty wide base of friends, and people I know who are diehard Cat fans and I tailgate with them when I go to Brawls there, and it's fine. Most of the really bad stuff I've seen there comes from the MSU students on their way through the tailgate areas, but I've seen the same stuff from Griz students in Missoula, so that's just part of the deal. I've always had a great time at the Brawl in both locations, and I try to go to Bozeman as often as I can as it's always even more fun when the Griz win there.

My biggest problem with things that go on at Bobcat Stadium are actually with every one of their other home games. I don't care how heated this rivalry is, no one can convince me that there is anything remotely rational or even funny about the whole teddy bear burning thing or the ESGGCG chant when the Cats are playing Fort Lewis, S.F. Austin or any other team on their schedule not named Montana. That's just really weird, obsessive and pointless to me. I was actually around the teddy bear thing before the Brawl a few years back, and that I can accept, and even think it's funny to see the old-timers get so excited about. But, doing it when the Cats are about to play Eastern Washington, in what was a HUGE, HUGE game last year? I just don't get that.
