It's a great party - about 150 people usually show up, roughly equally split between Griz and Cat fans. All good folks. I've lived out here for about 15 years now (minus a couple years in the middle when I lived in DC), and I've gone to the satellite party in either NY or DC every year, except one year when I was lucky enough to be in Montana and was able to go to the game. It's always a great time.

I'm working tomorrow chipping cedar limbs that I cut down over the past month. I'll view the Griz/Cat game when the opportunity arises via ESPN & its college scores since I won't have access to online streaming or TV. Hopefully, someone will DVD the game and post it online. Go Griz.

Huntsville Al, from the comfort of my own home...finnaly. I just got direct tv two months ago and I have now watch more Griz games in the last two months on tv then I have in the last 6 years since moving here in '10. Go Griz! Pound some Pussy!

It's my first day off in 27 days, told the boss that I'd quit before I worked that day. He understood, even bought the bottle of Johnny Walker Black.

Should have a good crowd. Have a cheerleader, raffle of Montana gear, and special on the Menu. Should be fun!!
One of my students is from Olympia, and his Mom -- a PhD in marine biology -- was intrigued (and perhaps concerned) about her Son's new University and it's infatuation with its Football team. She heard about "Griz Groups" around the country, and found this one near their home. So she went on game day to see what this was all about. She said she walked in the door, the place was packed, but somebody looked up and saw that she was looking somewhat bewildered and hailed her over to their table. She said they sat her right down, got her story about her Son attending UM, explained everything to her, walked her through the game and, by the end, she was a confirmed GRIZ FAN! even though with her PhD from UW. She later related that she'd never seen or experienced anything like that. She was an academic, and not a natural sports fan, but now she and her Son exchange frequent Griz emails, and she watches religiously. She was really impressed by the Griz fans she met at O'Blarneys, that this was a real community and they had so quickly and willingly made her a part of it, how wonderful these people were, and how much they loved their team.
