Robinson Out

Hated his mechanics honestly.
His place is on defense for sure. It sounds like Dick had a good fall on the practice squad, and Jensen still has 3 years. QB might be in good hands for a couple years...if we miss out on a QB this recruiting cycle it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Robinson was a 50-50 guy anyway. He did an interview a while back where they asked him if he would sign during early period. His answer left me a lot of pause

I had not heard about this interview. Sucks as I was jacked when he announced his choice

It was a interview in California highlighting his season and his commit to the Griz. He talked up all the Griz facilities and fans and great tradition, sothen the reporter said "so does that mean you will be signing in the early signing period?"

His response was kind of to play coy and then said "I'm not sure about that, yet. We will have to wait and see how it plays out"

Once I heard that, and the way he said it, I had a very real gut feeling he was not going to be a Griz. I wish I was wrong. Seems like a stud.
thanks for the info. Sure hope Selle and Green can reel him back in.

Insert QB Garrett Graves from Lincoln County High School - Eureka.

I think he’d be a good BSC QB but an all American outside linebacker. He’s athletic and tough as nails. I hope he’s on defense. Just watch him wrestle just a beast.

Agreed.

Somehow the sun will come up tomorrow. I don’t think it’s going to be BSC.

Uhhh no I don’t think we want to defend that guy every year.

I hope we can get him back. Then again, it is best for both parties for him to evaluate all opportunities, if he is not 100% sure. Then again, if he wants a coach who will allow him opportunity to put up huge stats, he might want to rethink that plan. It's difficult for Spread type QB's to adjust to the NFL. Pro style QB's tend to get more looks and opportunities in the NFL.

I hope to god that another BSC doesn’t get him. We don’t want to play against that guy.

Dropping his commitment at this point is not unusual or overly unexpected. The kid had a tremendous senior season and is probably getting plenty of 'looks'. I'm sure he is hoping for an attractive FBS school to come along with a scholarship.

Also the coaching change is a legit reason to hesitate. Stitt's system was a pass happy attack. Coach Hauck will need a quality QB but it's a safe bet it won't be pass first, pass second, pass third. No doubt uncertainty over what Hauck will install is a factor.

Robinson going with another Big Sky team would be extraordinarily unusual move. I have to believe Montana would still be his first choice if he wants to play in the FCS. So I would not write the kid off entirely. Though I'm sure he is still hoping for that FBS school to come along. Tough decision for him, hope he does well wherever he lands. :ugeek:

1982 is spot on in the assessment of robinson.....this kid would be a great get for the griz in the future just like he would have been in the past....wish the the kid the best and move on.

Hate to lose this kid, if Hauck can't bring him back on board. I can understand his de-commitment for sure. He was sold on the prior staff and the prior system but now doesn't know what he would be coming into. It makes good sense.

Bobby wants a QB in every class, so unless he's thinking of a different direction I'm going to bet he's going to be trying to get Robinson back on board.

If not... I'm not overly worried as we've got Gresch for 3 more years and Dick behind him who just won scout team player of the year. Hill can hopefully adapt and serve as a good senior backup this season. And Wilson is a bit of a wild-card, he had some good moments in the fall and is more of the right size of QB that Hauck likes.

Easy to count em before they hatch... can't tell you how many 4* QB's Iowa has had that never even saw the field, or were beat out by younger guys who didn't have the *'s next to their name.

Good luck wherever he decides to go

My pocketbook doesn't indicate that. :thumb:

Hauck wont have a problem finding a good QB. Transfer or drop down has worked before. We are in good shape.
