I would agree with you Brint. I had to ponder this and read a few more posts before I got to yours. First, he was one of the best at UM. He is still a record holder. There is a certain amount of social currency that comes with the influence he has with younger guys and the reputation he brings with him as a hard hitter, no holds barred, sometimes hothead, but that was passion and the man brought it with him every game even when I cussed him for some dumb personal or un-sportsmanlike fouls.Robby would provide some much needed help with:
- secondary / safety experience in this defense, he's played in it and helped teach guys as a player
- special teams
- recruiting, he'd be the youngest guy on staff and would probably connect better with kids around the state and region better than most others
