Rob Phenicie, New Video Star

Man, just watched Phenicie on the local sports news talking about the matchup with the Griz! (Sorry, could not find the actual video, but it will probably show up sometime soon.)

It was absolutely hilarious. He used every bit of “poor-me” coach-speak to say what a huge uphill battle the Bengals faced. After awhile, I was laughing so hard, I couldn’t quite keep up with it all. So here’s what I kinda remember:
“It’s going to tough.”
“They have the best facilities in the Big Sky. We’re just poor old Idaho State.”
“Their stadium is the best … ours is old and worn out.”
“All this tradition … they come out with these great flags. We have none of that.”
“They have a huge amount of talent, and the biggest, best O-line I’ve ever seen.”
“Our guys will look at the film and they’ll be in awe of their size and athleticism.”
“They’re led by an offensive-genius coach.” He didn’t use the words, but his expression and body language said “All we have is poor little me.”
“We just want to keep it close.”

He laid it on so thick, even the announcers laughed, afterwards, and wondered: “Little reverse psychology there?” [Yuh think?]

Bottom line: They’ll be ready.

Yeah, but ISU has an OC.

I think the Troxel connection will help ISU. Can't imagine it wouldn't. Troxel and Ferriter also know each other well. Ferriter has been gone from ISU for a few years, but he also knows something about ISU and certainly Phen and his offense.
