Rob Ash Fired

Sure it was fun to mock Ash because he was the coach (a very good one) of our most hated rival. We will get to blast the new guy regardless of his abilities. That is what fans do. Ash was a great guy and a good coach that cleaned up a very dirty program and was the best coach msu ever had in terms of wins and ran a very clean program. To fire the poor guy was simply a lack of class as he did many good things for msu.

For msu to be in and stay in the top ten every year is silly, dumb and sounds like a Don Trump speech at a female mud wrestling event in the deep south. Fields? What the heck is he smoking?

bigsky33, I know you don't want to hear this, but with NAU and EWU losing that day, the Griz would have gotten in the playoffs at 6-5 with a loss to the Bobcats. It was a scenario the playoff committee was fully prepared for.

Thought his vision of top ten ranking sounded over the top. Ash the victim of the what have you done for us lately dictum. Like you said he did so much to clean up a program, focus on better academics......win a ton of games, the most of any MSU FB coach. What what comes next? Who jumps at this opportunity to work for Fields?

Watched Sonny Holland be interviewed regarding the Ash firing and he was shocked. In his words, " I cannot believe that MSU treated Rob Ash this way. I wish the new coach all the success in the world, but it will take a lot to be a better coach the Rob Ash."
Go Griz!

The bobcat faithful need to listen when Sonny Holland speaks, he IS bobcat football. Compared to Sonny Holland, Fields is unqualified to carry Holland's chamber pot. The future of scat football is on shakey ground.

Go Griz!

But, they run a classy program!

In all seriousness, their stated goal is to be a perennial to 10 team.
They had a 0% chance to be a perennial top 10 team under Ash.
Maybe they only have a 1% chance if they get a new guy, but it can't be lower than 0%.
Like snap told his HS girlfriend: Why wait?

So if the Griz were headed on a downward trend for three years and the last being WAY below expectations, you are saying they would not fire the coach if he was a good guy? Just say'in!

Put this way, if this is the high point for Stitt and at the end of his three year contract the Griz are headed the wrong way, I believe that his contract would not be renewed. I am not at all shocked that Ash is gone but I am also not sure you're gonna find someone better in the first go. Its a real crap shoot. Spurrier had proven success in multiple places and still got fired due to failing to meet very high expectations at SC.

Have not seen your post CDA. There have been many posts on here saying Fields should have not let Ash go. A three year downward trend with many losses in big games including playoffs is not acceptable. The Griz would do the same thing if that was their head coach's experience. Do you think otherwise?

The experience at MSU has been better results with each new hire- Hysell then Kramer then Ash. I believe there are coaches out there that can come in and do better. You guys cast your lot with Stitt. Time will tell.

Your response doesn'answer my question.

Yes. I would hope the Griz would do the same thing. Sorry you couldn't infer that from my post.

Yep, Stitt's future is far from certain.

UMGriz is a world class douche bag. I know there are a lot of great griz fans out there. But crap posted like this is what gives you guys a bad name. UMGriz are you being a troll or do you ACTUALLY believe what you are saying? At this point I am rating you right up there with PlayaRep on the irrational Dbag-O-meter.
Perhaps you meant to comment on this thread?

Why have we fired most football coaches since 1971?
http://www.bobcatnation.com/bobcatbb/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=37216

Doc3 has been a troll since he started posting. When he is challenged, like you have done recently and others including myself have done in the past, he is unable to respond, has nothing to support his views, starts spewing gibberish, and ramps up the name-calling. One of the things I've come to enjoy over my years of being on the boards, is that a good number of the Cat trolls are left sputtering and muttering to themselves, after posters like 75 and others have challenged them.

Question PR...and NO lying. You have this little statement saved and you just cut and copy it, don't you? :thumb:

Question Doc3 ... you know you're just a troll, right? You can be honest about this, right?

Tell me playrape, can you tell the difference between a troll and someone challenging the pure bullshit spewed by some people on this site? If I were a troll I would be stirring up controversy and talking sh!t just for the sake of it. I am not doing that, I am calling out a fellow poster. I believe that UMGriz75 is a certified whack job with extreme views. He both minimizes and exaggerates the topic at hand depending on how it serves his own opinion, regardless of the facts or realities of the situation. Anything bad at UM happens and he minimizes it to the n'th degree...if you need proof and have about 30 hours, review any of his long winded posts on the recent legal issues of van ackeren et al...or the JJ / Krakauer thread. On the other hand, MSU fires the head coach for letting the program slide over the past 3 years and MSU is the devil and their fans are delusional irrational fanatics (he does realize that he is a member of one of the most fanatical fan bases right?) that are literally crazy for believing they could have a winning program and be an annual power in fcs football. The arrogance is ASTOUNDING, and total bullshit.
