Rivalry Week

I wonder why they don't just have UM expand to absorb MSU. We'd have close to 30,000 students and could easily be FBS. Expand the Missoula campus and sell the Bozeman campus to private entities for a huge profit. Use Reno H. Sales for HS state championship games. They are already governed by the same BOR. UM could finally do what it wants without MSU holding it back, and taxpayers would probably save money.

It makes total sense. It's like we are chained to a corpse...

Not thirty thousand students interested in dance, creative writing, and gender studies.

C'mon, UM could obviously absorb the programs for kids that "can't right no good" too.

Right? It sucks that Nebraska is in the BIG and the BOR keeps Montana in the BSC acting like there are two relevant universities at the expense of both (but mostly at the expense of UM). It only makes sense to pool the resources, pool the talent, pool the efforts, and stop this MSU charade.

With the money saved Montana could surely develop its own School of Medicine, benefiting the entire state. Some would fear the economic impact in Bozeman, especially to the taverns and women's plus-sized clothing stores. Perhaps a compromise would be to keep the agriculture program in Bozeman. Downgrade it (again) to Montana College of Agriculture, cut all sports (except for rodeo) and string barbed wire around the campus. They could grow experimental wheat in Reno H. Sales Stadium and there is plenty of good grazing space.

All good ideas that would curb MSU's suckling on the taxpayer's teat to stay alive. I like the idea to keep the programs that formed MSU's roots in Bozeman. This way, there would be no belly aching about losing the "MSU Tradition." Overall, however, fuck the economic impact in Bozeman! How about the economic benefit to the rest of the state? Doesn't the BOR have a duty to allocate resources in the most efficient manner? How can they say this isn't the best option with a straight face?

Here's the thing. The catch word is "cooperation". It has ruined UM from the start. When there was an Ag school and a University UM allowed the Aggies to have a club sports team. Later they allowed the "Ag"school to offer liberal arts and business. In the 60's they gave up being THE Montana State University to allow the Ag school to be a university. Cooperation is the downfall of UM. It is like the port of Tacoma "cooperating" with the port of Seattle - they had their foot on their throat and decided to cooperate, and now there is a shitload of ships stacked up In the harbor and nobody can get a cheap Chinese tv at Walmart this Christmas season. Cooperation is stupid.

Co-op? Hell no! Takeover and absorb? Yes.

Very well done. This should be taught in Fourth Grade Montana History. Nobody should be permitted to forget what MSU really is.
