RIP Curt Colter

Autopsy report came back. He had a blockage in his heart, combined with hypertension and high blood pressure. He was a good man, a great husband, wonderful father and an amazing Griz. He will be greatly missed.

I love this picture. There are special Grizzlies in my life, and Curt was definitely one. Curt played a season of legion baseball in my hometown. You all may find this hard to believe, but Colter could hit a baseball a long ways (shocking but true). What everyone says about him and his character are dead on. Polite is an understatement; he was genuine.

I congratulated him recently on facebook for the Hall of Fame. Our correspondence, while brief, made it clear this outstanding person was the same guy I knew from his baseball days. He would always like my status when I changed it to Up With Montana on college football Saturdays. Thank you Curt for reinforcing my love of Griz nation. Thanks for representing our school and our program so well, and thanks for being so awesome to an obnoxious bat boy all those years ago.

Up With Montana!

RIP Curt

Hey you guys.....last night I sent an email to DJ Coulter offering my condolences to him and his family.

This morning he called me and wanted to thank each and everyone of you for the kind words and prayers. His family really appreciates it and wants you to know it is helping them start to heal and take the next step in dealing with this tragedy.

He said he appreciated everything 8 or 9 times........so he must really mean it.

He had a lot of positive things in the last year,” D.J. Colter said. “He was there when I was inducted (with the 1995 Grizzly title team) and I was there when he was inducted. How many brothers can say that? It’s just really special.”

That's pretty cool, no doubt. RIP Curt.
