Returning UM football to dominance

Total dominance in every area of the game. Fumbles are part of the game.

And so are losses.

You made the statement we weren't in that game from the 2 minute mark of the 1st quarter. That's patently false. And yet you say you were AT that game? :? :?
He was probably sitting with Michael Hawthorne!!!!

Why do you have to be such a dick? Michael Hawthorne absolutely said what was alleged he said. Were you there? I don't think so. But I was, along with my group of twelve who also heard him say it. Do you actually expect him to admit saying it when his kid is still playing for Hauck? He got caught saying it, and was exposed for saying it on this site, as well as everyone around him at that game, by making the statement. Then he did damage control by posting that he did not say it. Don't be so naive, Hammer. 40,000 comedians out of work, and still you think you are one.

I keep hearing about our 10-2 record. Do you ever recall that we were a miraculous blocked FG, and a 100-yard KO return from being 8-4? We were totally outplayed in both of those games, if you recall. Then, there was the Coastal Carolina debacle, where Mick decided to play macho man and have our players compete in horrid weather against a team smart enough to dress appropriately.

....We were also schooled by Jerome Sowers in Flagstaff. Perhaps the most lop-sided Griz football loss I can remember in the past 10 years. We were embarrassed there, and were never in the game from the opening kick-off.

Dude, take a valium. EVERY season there's games we win that we should have lost, and games we lose we should have won. Hell, in our 5-6 season we were THHHHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSS close to being 8-3. Shit happens, deal with it.

And if you think the NAU loss was the worst Griz loss in the last 10 years, you must not be old enough to remember the 2008 Championship game against Richmond. Now THERE was a game we weren't in from the opening kickoff.

I am not talking about winning close games. We were totally out-played in both the Cal Poly and South Dakota games. The Poly FG was from extra point range. With identical circumstances, we do not win that game 1 in 50 times. Then, in the South Dakota game, a game in which Delaney was once again schooled by our old head coach Glenn, we do not win that game 1 in 100 times. If Glenn kicks a squibb kick, we lose. Even if he kicks it long, like he did, how many return for a TD have we had in the past 5 years? The answer is that was the ONLY one. So, face the facts. Delaney gets schooled by opposing coaches in nearly every game. Fortunately we have such superior players than most of the teams we play, that we are still able to win. But, South Dakota? Poly? NAU? Some of you gloss over the won-lost record without digging down to the actual games. Name one solid team in our ten wins that we defeated last season? Don't say the Cats either, cause by the end of the season they could not beat anybody.

Oh, and the NAU drubbing was worse than the Richmond playoff game. I was in attendance at both of them. We were never in the NAU game from the two-minute mark in the first quarter. It was a total and complete embarrassment.
This is definately NOT true and quite frankly, has NEVER been true give or a take a couple special years.

Oh and we have only one KOR TD in the last 5 years? I can think of two returns during games I was AT in the last 5 years not made by Ellis

Two kickoff returns for TDs in the past 5 seasons? No way. Give names and dates please.

You don't think we had better players than other Big Sky teams in the past 20 years? O.K., I did some research on the number players who were either drafted by NFL teams, signed as free agents, or who played in Canada. Since 1993, here are the results:

NFL:

UM 65
EWU 33
MSU 32
NAU 32
Weber 23

I did not bother to track the other Big Sky pretenders, but I think you get my point. Not even close.

No problem dude. I just find it interesting that the first time a post is made which may in some ways be critical (realistic) about Grizzly football, the 8th grade comics come out of the woodwork to make playground comments about the poster, offering zilch to the discussion (because they have nothing to offer as usual). You know, guys like Everett and All Weather, who never played a sport in their pathetic lives. They couldn't contribute a navy bean to loud fart contest.

Hammer, don't you get tired of reading flowery rhetoric which is steeped only by the Kool-Aid drinkers? Is it not refreshing to actually read a post which gives the alternate point of view sometimes?

Superior coaching? Our talent level is no better than any other BSC school. Just ask alpha. You were very hard on Hauck during his tenure also. What does a HC have to do to satisfy you? You seem to have a "win the NC or you are a bum" mentality regarding the head coach. Not starting smack just wondering.

No better talent??? How do you explain the NFL players given above? Is that just a mirage? How many players did Montana have sign with NFL teams this year, 5? 6? Then, how many did EWU, MSU, NAU have? Two of those three teams beat us. Was it the players fault?

No, that's not what I said. I said alpha doesn't think we have more talent, I do think we have but also think we have had superior coaching as well. I'm asking you is it all talent or is there some coaching that helped out along the way? Case in point, Colt Anderson. Far from the most talented player on the field. (BTW, I know Colt and he would agree with this statement).

Why do you think we have superior coaching? How can you say this based on what occured with this team the past two years? I hated Hauck as a coach, mainly because of his arrogant personality, not winning the big ones, and his style of playing not-to-lose. But Hauck was smart enough to hire strong assistant coaches. Colt A. played for Breske, which is why he feels the way he does. If he had played under Gregorak, would he still feel that way?

Okay, here's 3 KO returns for TD's in the past years:

Henderson in '13 - 98 yards
Sambrano in '11 - 96 yards
Mariani in '09 - 96 yards

UM dominated Big Sky football during much of the time from 1993. Way way more conference championships. More playoff appearances. More appearances in the national championship game. Etc. Yes, UM had alot of good players, and many of them got professional opportunities. So what's the point? According to your stats, UM had twice as many players with professional opportunities. UM must have 4 times as many championships, and won 4 or 5 times as many playoff games. Does it mean UM should have had 125 players on your list? Does it mean the UM coaches were twice as good as those other teams?

They have given MSU more money for the last decade. I think it matters. If you don't, you are inbred. hokey? :thumb:
Ok, the legislature gives um and msu a lump sum of money based on their enrollment. Each institution determines how that money is spent. The legislature and the board of regents don't dictate how the money is spent. Your attempt at an msu bias by the regents and legislature falls short.

You better check your info. Colt never took one snap as a Griz with Breske as DC. Fucking idiot.

Seriously, how can anyone have a very accurate evaluation of Delaney, his staff, and the program from the last 2 seasons, and the circumstances he took over? I honestly feel the 2014 season will be the 1st season we can have an honest evaluation from.

And Colt had Gregorak perform his marriage ceremony in Butte when he got married. Sure, Colt didn't like Gregorak. That's pretty funny. Growler always made up his information and got things wrong, but he appears to have gotten even worse during his layoff. Allowed his declining game to deteriorate while trying to play part time in the semi-pro league of Maroonblood.
