Screamin Eag, I'm sure they will be good players, but sorry, you pretty much get ONE Brandon Kuafman. Trying to already compare up-and-comers who have never even set foot in a Big Sky Conference game after ALL Kaufman did for EWU is really ignorant in my opinion.
Not saying anyone we have on the roster will be exactly like Kaufman. Of course he's one of a kind. But we always replace ridiculous talent at QB and WR with more ridiculous talent at QB and WR.

Meyer... Nichols... Bo Levi... Adams...

Kimble... Boyce... Kaufman...
We used to say that about DB's. Shit can change in a heartbeat.

i think it's a bit premature to compare Adams to a pair of Peyton Award Winners. And IMHO, Kimble and Boyce can't hold a candle to kaufmann, but that's just me.

This, thank you

Perhaps, but Adams was the #4 rated passer in FCS as a RS freshman this past year, and tied the school record for passing TDs in a game (although he did it in one half) with 6, against SHSU. He's well on his way to a great career. Kaufman is certainly the best of the three, but I'm pretty sure Kimble, Boyce and Kauf were all at least two time All-Americans.

Who preceded Trumaine? Also, FIFY. :)

How many of those had solid NFL careers? Many Montana DBs prior to Trumaine Johnson, Terry Dillon, Tim Hauck, Vince Huntsberger, Trey Young, Tuff Harris, Jimmy Wilson, Colt Anderson, Shan Schillinger for starters, most with substantial NFL time.

Jeff Ogden was the best WR, by far, to ever play for EWU. No one else comes close. He blew the doors off the Griz in '97, and totally carried his team.

Ogden was great, for sure, and spent some time playing for the Dolphins. But realistically, he was not better than Kimble, Boyce, Edwards, or Kaufman. And I thought Ogden was a tremendous player.

It was an honest question, shithead.

I can't help but wonder about Aaron Boyce if he hadn't torn his achilles against the Griz his senior year. I do think Kaufmann is headed to the pros with a significantly better outlook not just because of being injury free but his size/speed however Boyce was a total beast.

Thinking back I think every year we played EWU Boyce just wrecked us. However (and I'd have to look this up to be sure) I think Kaufmann only had 1 great game against us (this year) and last year he was ok but not great.

As for Boyce I remember when he got hurt, standing ovation from the Wa Griz crowd and lots of egrizzers really upset for him to get hurt and end his season. He even created an account on egriz and posted to thank GrizNation for their support.

He wrote back to those who sent him "get well" mail: http://egriz.com/grizboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39660&p=499706" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Take Kaufman out of the equation and Adams #4 ranking and 6td half don't happen. I personally don't think Adams is that great a passer (i think Padron was better, but still not a Myer), he does have ability to buy time with his feet though. Look at the big games for ewu and Kaufman is the common denominator.....the on side recovery and big td catch against the Griz, 3 tds against Ill St., take away his 3 tds against SHSU and you aren't even in the game.....the guy was that good. As a matter of fact I may host a "gone away party" in his honor, because he won't be around to exploit our defense anymore :D

Yes, I too, don't plan to shed many tears at the departure of the single reason for a Griz loss this year.

Kauf had 119 and a TD against the Griz in 2010 as well.

Those other dudes had a QB to throw them the ball. Ogden did it with his legs. No comparison.

Best of luck to Kaufman, he is a very good player......But I could care less!

And what could you could care less for - and just how much less might that be?

Best WR in the Big Sky since Vincent Jackson at UNC. He has all the tools, it will be interesting to see what his combine/pro day numbers are. I think his speed/size ratio will surprise some people.

I tried to think of who was better than him and the only guy in the ball park was Jackson. I do believe Jackson played at UNC before they were in the big sky?
bout 99 percent sure VJ's last season was directional Colorado''s first year in the BSC

2004 was Jackson's senior year. He had 15 catches for 227 yards against us that year..

Yes. I was at that game. He was unstoppable. A quick google seach shows UNC joined the big sky on July 1, 2006. So yes we played him, but he was not in the big sky at that point.
I stand corrected haha, i def remember him catching a touchdown in the east corner of the south endzone in that 2004 game.

Bump: un-drafted. Dude could've been probably the most dominant FCS WR in 2013 but now he's going to have to scrape together a free agent deal and fight like hell to make a team.
