It is fair to note that he is not really negative toward either school, and doesn't really cover things that could be negative.
But he literally came on here and admitted it would be covered differently if it happened in Missoula.

You think the cat would have his tongue if the tables were turned?

Maybe we read that post of his differently. The way I took it was that he was saying there was a HUGE gap in quality of journalism between Missoula and the other town, and I understood him to be saying that the missoula reporters would have covered it much better. Maybe I was just off, but I thought he was criticizing the Bozeman journalism in a subtle way.

I didn't think he was saying HIS site would have covered it differently.

Interesting, so you read his post as if he were looking down his nose at the valiant Mr. Flores for asking about the state’s biggest sports story during the off season?

Is there such a HUGE gap in the quality between them? Guess I haven’t noticed, probably because I have to go looking for his whatever while Mr Flores’ arrives on my doorstep.

I seem to remember he used the word bureaucracy or something which is hilarious. Sure seemed to go out of his way to explain why he wasn’t covering it, altho I can’t remember any good explanation. Wouldn’t it just be easier to cover it?

Colter is a parasite. He lives off of the cats, and won't bludgeon his access...he ain't asking nothin.

Colter is trying to make a living after a lot of hard work building his business. I find him very balanced between both schools.

I didn't say anything about balanced coverage. Please stay on topic.

It's not like he is out being a negative journalistic investigator on the griz, either. He is what he is, and I appreciate what he does.

We don't ask Skip Bayless to break stories like Northwestern's hazing.

I am a football analyst analyst. Colter is a crappy analyst.

Is that how it works?

Should we do a poll on which of Soldier and Coulter are more knowledgeable and accurate?

How about a poll on when/if you can make a post and get two names spelled right?

Actually, yea, you've got the gist.

Well in fairness, this commercial was made last year before the season started. Before the DUI poop.

R-Bar is maybe the biggest sponsor and more involved than any MSU has. Now, if the argument is no bar should ever advertise in partnership with a university that is a completely different story. But in light of the current coach circumstances, I'll admit it's a bad look. But ever since NIL, Cat players have been doing commercials with the R-Bar.

If they trotted out Garza and Housewright for a commercial this summer........ :o

Well, in fairness, I think that is the exact story not being told. Can you imagine if some bored NYT journalist got wind of this? Two coordinators from a state school whose biggest and most involved sponsor is a bar get arrested for DUI within months of each other and get contract renewals/raises in a state with a huge DUI problem, and the administration refuses to comment on any of it. To me, that's a significant story.

No disagreement there. I’m on record saying in the state of montana, in the sports world, don’t see how our idiot coordinators aren’t the biggest story. I don’t like it.

The Bozeman Chronicle has always chose to limit coverage on stories that make the town look bad. From the Kramer days to the Xanax days to the Bar IX roofies and now the drunk driving coaches. They will tell ya everything ya want to know about Yellowstone, Wolves and Bison though.

Gee did any of you ever stop to think that maybe Colter would’ve went ahead with his story he was planning on doing of the cats coaching staff if you assholes would’ve just stopped harassing him? Instead, you pissed him off and got nothing in the process. Again, it’s not like he hasn’t covered this on his radio show, cause he has, and I guarantee you if there’s ramifications for Housewright and Mix after their court hearings tomorrow, he’ll report on that too!

Also, should be an interesting day in court tomorrow for Housewright (and I think Mix who I want to say also appears tomorrow). Interested to see what comes from it!

It could be that The Great Leader has a say in what the local media reports. That’s kinda how it goes in most regimes. Empress doesn’t want anything negative coming out. I heard a rumor she also shot a 34 for 18 holes on her first round ever and gave up golf because it was too easy for her.

Your theory is he is not writing a DUI story because Griz fans harassed him? If so, he is softer than I thought.

My theory is he won't do it because it might hurt his access - which I understand as his parasitic job requires it.

I just have a hard time respecting those who won't do the hard, yet correct, work.

Great journalists and even analysts do the hard things and rock an occasional boat. Exceptional ones sink them when required.
