This is one good coach its Shanns uncle and he has an amazing record. Check the article out in the Billings gazette. His shutout record is 31% of his games that is amazing. WE need him he knows how to coach.

Is he going to catch the ball for our players, or not run into the kicker of the opposing team, or not late hit the qb, or hang on to the ball, or run the right route, or not over-throw the receivers, or make a decent tackel for our defense?

Because it doesn't matter who the coach is when your players can't execute. People keep whining about "discipline" when the fact is that our players just aren't good enough this year. We need to get new players that can do the things that our current players can't, then if we still stink we can start worrying about coaching.

If I thought you were really serious I'd have to say something really insulting and obscene that would get me banned from egriz...But you weren't?...Right? I thought so...Sorta.

So true.

Now isn't the time to discuss replacing our football coach. He is in his first year at UM and he is having a decent year. Not a great year by Griz standards, but a good year. Hopefully, he will be given three years, at least, by Jim O'Day before there is any consideration of looking for a new coach. The responsibilities of the head coach are very demanding and much more diverse than those of an assistant......give the man time to adjust....please!

spot on...we (ME) need to give him time to adjust, too. I'll be there Saturday hoping Pflu has some stuff cleaned up and we roll the SUE. :thumb:

grizz81, from the looks of your first two posts, you may be the first candidate who can give serious competition to David2 .... and that's not good.

Dang, come on! the losses DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE COACH.
1.) Cal-poly - "couldn't catch a damn ball, more-or-less, We couldn't throw that ball, when we did, couldn't hold on to the Damn Ball".

2.) Eastern W.U. - "No body told the defense that they have to tackle, that there is actually no flag to pull. And  again, couldn't throw the ball, when we did, couldn't hold on to the damn Ball".

3.) Weber St. - It was that suck a@@ field, that sucky a@@ Stadium, and that sucky a@@ weather :!: Jks, refer to 1 & 2 quotes.

I didn't ever see Pflu run the field and try to pass, return, catch, or run with the ball all throughout those three games, so do not know how anybody can just point the fingers at the coach :!: :x

Duh foncy, I disagree. We have very talented kids, though some are injured and some that executed plays at a higher level last year, while showing more discipline, though it was a different coach....hmmmm. Seems like a no brainer.

:bs: :stupid:
Players perform how they are coached or lack there of. If that is not true then why did you guys blame Hauck for every problem and not the players. Hauck just put the most talented group of former Griz players in the NFL in the history of Griz football during his time here.

We have the players and the talent to win games but right now they are playing down to the level of the coaching. This coaching staff just doesn't seem to instill the same drive and desire to excell as the previous coaches. Hopefully the Pflu crew will rise to the level of their talent this Saturday.

I watched Don Schillinger's last game in Manhattan-that team tackled better than any other High School team I have ever seen. Very very fundamentally sound football team-I think those kids tackle better than the Grizzlies do this year no $hit! Don would be an excellent coach to have on the Grizzlies staff.

Will Schillinger make a great coach on somebody's staff? Sure. Is he going to replace Pflu? C'mon guys
Pflu is our coach and IMO a good one. Wait and see..... He'll get this train rolling. I personally talked to two former players who know Pflu and they assure me we're more than lucky to have him as HC.
I look for a strong, well coached team that's going to win our last two regular season games and make some noise in the playoffs.
Eternal Optimist...... Maybe

Crazy, Loud and Proud Griz Fan...... Definately ;)

I hope you're right but regardless of that, it's time to unite and make a serious run for the final 2 games and the playoffs. Time to start thinking about game day and hopefully at least the next 3 games being in WA Griz!

GO GRIZ!!

has it ever crossed your mind that players showing lack of discipline and not executing could have something to do with coach? just asking

i think the would be good to have on the staff, but to fire a guy who has been in college football as long as pflu for a guy cuz he was a great Class "B" HS coach would be a big mistake and something that would never happen. I am not the biggest Pflu supporter but this wouldnt be the right move...lets see how he would do on the staff before giving him the reigns...recruiting would be the biggest hurdle i think.

Like it or not we have Pflu but Schillinger would be a great add to the coaching staff. Maybe he could bring some eastern Montana fire and drive to the enemic coaching we have now.
