Remembering 1995-Griz Championship

Very cool, really enjoyed that. Lots of blowout wins until the championship. Wow, that's a tough championship having to play on the road vs. 30k opposing fans. Very good team, kudos to the '95 Griz!

On a side note . . . I couldn't even tell the teams by their colors in 1995 vs. today. Georgia Southern (same) and Marshall (pretty close) . . . everyone else has different colors than they do today except maybe EWU. Interesting. Teams should be required to stay the same, love the history of college FB!

Huh? Besides the Griz, obviously, Stephen F Austin, Weber, Bozeman State, Boise St, Idaho State, NAU, Idaho and Washington St have kept the same colors. The only one that's different is UM.

I think maybe what he was getting at was the shades of some of the colors...and maybe he was just thrown off by uniform styles as well...but, off-hand, the only one that is really drastically different are the griz colors, and the bozeman colors - going from a more royal blue and bright yellow to now - a darker blue, and more "true" gold.

No disrespect intended for a great 2001 team, but '95 had a special quality with DD at the helm. It was expected that we'd win, and they did. It's always fun to guess, but #15 is in the showcase for a reason.
+1 :agree:

Another way one might look at this '95-'01 comparison is to view it in two year windows: '95 won chipper @Marshall, '96 lost chipper @Marshall & Moss. '01 won chipper by dominating Furman, '00 lost a heart-breaker to GSU. Both great two year stretches, should have won in '00 after a horrid 1st half, would probably still have lost in '96 on a neutral field due to one opposing player. I'd have to say the 95-96 pair was probably more impressive, especially the playoff runs & how they steamrolled the opposition leading up to the championship. Either way, they were both great rides!
