Remember when....

Soccer is gay. My high school daughter plays and I want to blow my brains out every game. Nothing lamer then watching a bunch of high school girls run in circles for an hour and half.

If I wanted to watch some dudes awkwardly run around unsuccessfully trying to score, id take a group of egrizzers to Stock's.

nice.

all programs hit the skids sooner or later. we have had a great run, and we will again be a contender. the days of dominating for so long at UM are likely over, as talent becomes available across FCS especially an expanded Big Sky.

I think we will again compete for championships and playoff runs to NC but not with the regularity of the past two decades.

Kinda makes me wish even more BH could have got it done in 04' 08' or 09'. Instead Griz are 11 years and counting away from the last NC. Time flies.

totally disagree. i HATE agreeing with Alpha, and i actually still believe Trent Mckinney is the best option the Griz have at QB, but if JJ's life doesn't go down the tubes, we're not even having this discussion. The Griz are probably 6-1 and unbeaten in the Big Sky or flip it and say they lose at ewu but beat appy. whatever, I think with the Griz, it really is that fine a line, at least this season.

Ya know, it wasn't all that long ago that I remember many a grumblings from those leaving WaGriz after a game about how it was a really "ugly win" or "we should have beat that team by 30" instead of barely winning. Ahhhh...... the good old days. Never before has it been more apparent that any win is a good win. I vow never to complain about an "ugly win" again! Here's to hoping we have 4 straight wins, even if they're damn ugly!

I'd take him back as Griz coach in a heart beat.

Seriously what is so hard about soccer?

You run
You kick a ball
You dont use your hands
If you hit somebody you get a yellow card

The hardest part about soccer would be mastering the "flop".

:coffee:

That's about the same as saying what's so hard about football?
You stand around for 45 seconds
Push some other dude around for 5 seconds
Try to catch the little guy with the ball
If you're on the field for too many plays you gotta hobble to sideline to get hooked up to an oxygen tank

Any sport can be dissected into what would seem a easy and pointless game. Nice try using that whole logic thing though...

And before anyone flames I am a football and soccer fan, not necessarily in that order. I am in no way bashing any of the athletes on the field

I remember when Bobby Hauck said, "Winning football games is hard". I wasn't high on Bobby as our coach but can't argue with how the wins piled up during the regular season, at least during the last 4 seasons he coached here.

Also this one. "If football were easy they'd call it soccer."

Side note: I was wondering when was the last time the Griz lost two games in a row in WGS. Read in the Missoulian this is the first time. It truely was the "Clark Fork Death March" across the foot bridge Saturday. Heard one "old" guy state he doesn't remember the Griz every playing this bad. He must not have been a Griz fan in the 80s.
As posted in another thread, the Griz have lost three in a row at Wash/Griz: 11/13/99 (Idaho 33-30); 11/27/99 (Youngstown St. 30-27); 9/2/00 (Hofstra 10-9). Speaks loudly the credibility of the Missoulian.

If soccer were that hard, Europeans couldn't do it.

Curling is hard.
You have to keep getting up off your knees and that broom ain't gonna sweep itself.

You think girls would be great at it.

Remember when the question wasn't IF we would win, but only BY HOW MUCH.
Yep and Hauck got rid of that mindset his first season.

Yeah. The only coach with a better winning percentage than Hauck in the HISTORY of UM football is Joe Glenn. :thumb:

Hauck sucked, fer sure.
