Reese is coming

So Stitt stated the fumble was his fault because he got too conservative? Pretty sure that is not what he said.

After a game in which Simis fumbled after getting stripped from the left side, I believe his first fumble, Stitt said he had probably called the wrong play and put too much on Simis with the type of play he called in that situation. It an option run-throw play. Too much to deal with in the particular situation. On the other hand, like you, I'm more of a player has to execute type of guy, like you appear to be.

The coaching strategy might have survived without the Simis OT fumble, his second in as many tries, which you somehow manage to ignore.
Ignored nothing. Hayden Stout got to Simis twice in that game and stripped the ball loose.

And how did the Griz end up in overtime in the first place?

That "coaching strategy might have survived?" The strategy that intentionally placed the game at risk?

That's the part you "somehow manage to ignore."

In that case, a "player mistake" was recovered by a "player touchdown." Coaching didn't have much to do with either one. "Coaching" sure as hell did not win that game, blame Simis all you want, his "fumble" did not affect the outcome. Not like 4 interceptions at NDSU, that's the part you somehow manage to ignore.

So why did it end up in OT in the first place, from a comfortable lead?

As Stitt admitted, he "went conservative" to protect a 24-13 lead, and then ordered more passing upon the theory -- direct quote -- "you have to pass sometime." So, in running up the plays (92) just to run up the plays and burn clock, what happened?

Gee, this is a tough one, isn't it?
So in the bolded above, are you trying to say that it was not the fault of Simis that he fumbled the ball multiple times in the ISU game?
Also the Weber OT debacle.

"So Stitt stated ...". No, He didn't. And I didn't say he did. Stop lying.

No lie. I asked you based on your previous post a simple question about whether the fumbles at ISU were the fault of Simis and you went on some rant about what Stitt said about his conservative playcalling. If you were not answering my question, then what in the hell were you talking about.

Is Phillips coming? Yes. Well, maybe. It isn't Feb yet. Will it make any difference? Only time will tell.

Did our new coach make some mistakes evaluating the level of competition in his first year at a higher division? Absolutely, and usually admitted it. I can only hope he learned from those mistakes.

Can we move on now?

Already signed his paperwork for school. coming for spring semester. Febuary has nothing to do with this one.

That is precisely my point. The odd spectacle of cheerleaders who can't even admit what the coach admits are what really distinguishes obsessive fans to the point of a blind dishonesty.

It was an immature move on his part and totally unnecessary. Is he going to do this with every recruit we bring in that plays the same position as a friend? I'll leave it at that, don't want to take away from the thread arguing over different opinions about a dumb tweet.

Welcome aboard Reese Phillips!

Some people need to grow a thicker skin and quit acting like a pussy....

Quit egging people on. You do it on way too many threads. Let's just be happy we just got stronger at QB, regardless of who starts this coming season.

Not trying to egg anyone on....stating a point that has become way too common in today's world....how about a participation ribbon....

Honestly stopped reading the thread here. ALL you do on this site is egg people on. I don't remember the last time you said, "I agree." Only time you EVER agree with anyone is if it is to disagree with someone else.

Forgetting about Reese for a moment and looking back on our season my wife's girl friend thinks last season's up and down play was the fault of Stitt and Gregorak not being on the same page. Of course my wife likes both coaches and is convinced her friend is right. This old cowboy sits on the fence...

Well, the defense played pretty well all season (other than the occasional big play or trick play) ...It was the OFFENSE that seemed to go in fits and starts...
