Would be interesting 'if' Derek Selvig did redshirt; that would leave only eleven players on the active roster. That is, considering both McGillis and Michael Taylor sitting out a season due to transfer rules and Tyler Hurley also redshirting, at least, that's the latest that I've heard.
Hope no one gets injured during the season. Knock on wood. That would mean a choice between only two players, Hurley and Selvig, to perhaps activate to fill an injured players role; if the need should arise. Mostly a twelve player active roster for a season seems to be the optimal opinion amongst coaches to enter a season with; perhaps, sometimes more and sometimes less, depending on the overall talent available and whatever defensive/offensive schemes are implemented. At least I haven't seen too many teams opening a season with much less than twelve, normally. It can be done though.
I'd have to agree, though, would be a highly sought after option available to take advantage of; redshirting Selvig. Next years' team already looks to be one of the better that the Griz have ever had; depending on development, at least on paper, covering all five positions adequately. Ward and Stockton will only add to it even more so, it seems.
