So we landed Van Vliet, which is being touted as a pretty bigtime pickup on recruiting message boards! He was also being recruited by Minnesota, Indiana, Wazzu, and Oregon State. BUT WHO ARE THE OTHER RECRUITS THAT WE ARE PURSUING?? Obviously we lost Rashaun Broadus to BYU (why in the hell any non-Mormon would choose to go to BYU over Montana for Bball is beyond me), but who else are we going after???? What is everyone hearing? I have heard that we are going after PG Maurice BArksdale out of a JC in Baltimore. He is a former Maryland high school BB Player of the Year and is a paragon a true point guard, not flashy but a very good scorer and passer.

Are there any addition to this list besides McGillis? Insiders let us know what you are hearing!!!
 
I read on the other board that Krysko is currently in Australia looking at kids down there. I dont' know how much credence there is to this, but some have said that there is someone down there that he really likes.
 
Barksdale had very impressive scoring and assist numbers at the JC level. I think he averaged something like 18 plus points and 7.5 assists. He also hits well over 70% of his free throws. He is listed at 5'11".
 
Another swing man coming in for a recruting trip tomorrow. :-?

Don't know much about him, JC out of Chicago I heard.

So we've got Swift, Sharp and Dlouhy already. Is it necessary to bring in another 3? I guess with 2 scholarships still available we might as well fill them somehow, but I think a 4 or a 5 who can consistently score should be the #1 priority.
 
GymRat-I think Sharp is projected to play post as he did in high school. I agree that our most immediate need seems to be a post who can contribute immediately.
 
I think Barksdale would be a hugetime get!!! ANyone hear if he is scheduled for an official or unofficial visit of any kind???


Anybody know the name of Chicago swingman that is visiting?
 
Not a swingman...I was misinformed. He was a PG, 5'11". Don't know if its Barksdale or not, but this guy still has trips to Tennessee and San Diego for recruiting visits. Don't have a name or where he's from either.

Anybody else know anything about him?
 
Anyone that has any pertinent info whatsoever on the recruit that in town the past couple days PLEASE POST...
 
LeMar Phillips Highland CC (ILL) 6-foot-3 200 pounds is definatly taking a seriuos look at Montana he is a small forwad / guard.

I hear Phillips may have signed with the University of North Dakota
