Recruits - what happens now?

OK, so now that the HC appears to be moving on, isn't it true that our recruits have the option to "back out" on their letters of intent, or whatever?

Someone with better technical knowledge of this help fill me in...

This is wording from the National Letter of Intent:

If Coach Leaves. I understand I have signed this NLI with the institution and not for a particular sport or individual. If the coach leaves the institution or the sports program, I remain bound by the provisions of this NLI. I understand it is not uncommon for a coach to leave his or her coaching position.

However, I believe many schools allow their recruits to look elsewhere if they choose.
