Recruits over homecoming weekend

At the homecoming game on saturday coach Tinkle walked by me with a kid, who I assume is a recruit. When I got home I had to check out mslacat's blog to see if the kid was listed on there. The kid looked very similar to Michael Farr. Mslacat (or anyone for that matter) do you know if that recruit was Farr or someone else?

Someone else from what I hear. Check out Mslacat's past blogs with possible recruits. I cannot reveal names, but narrow it down to a recruit from South of Billings MT within 2 states (that should help you out some.) I hear he and his family enjoyed the atmosphere and made a good impression. How good? We shall see in the next few months.

There may have been other recruits too, but I have been told of one. I am sure in time someone will post more specifics when things can be more official.

Thanks for the info, ESPN has an article on their recruiting site rating him as the best player in his state, and even go as far as to say he is the clear leader for the Mr. Basketball, in that state, that is south of billings.

Sounds like Tinkle is looking at some high-caliber players. With only one senior on this year's team, it will be a small class. According to mslacat's blog, the one guy we've offered so far Trinson White is rated a 94 on ESPN. That would be a big score.

Jordan may be mr. basketball this year in Colorado but CSU and CU do not appear to have any interest in him. They are probably already loaded at his position.

Gregory has committed to UM

I new that before I posted. I was referring to them showing interest during the process. They obviously have none after today.

The late, great Frank Zappa sang about moving to Montana to raise dental floss.

Jordan Gregory, a blur of a guard who led Pueblo East to a Colorado runner-up finish the past season, will be doing likewise in 2011, only he’ll be playing basketball. The 6-foot-2 senior has decided to join the Grizzlies of the Big Sky Conference.

In averaging 24 points during the 2009-10 season, Gregory propelled the Eagles to a 25-2 record. They lost in the Class 4A state final, 61-56 to Sierra in overtime.

Gregory can play either guard position, has shooting range, can drive to the basket, makes his free throws and is a slick passser in the open court. Defensively, his quickness makes him a threat on the perimeter in cutting off passing lanes or picking pockets.

He was 4A first team all-state by The Denver Post and named to the all-tournament team.

Gregory follows C.S. Christian guard Nate Engesser (Denver) and Harrison’s Xavier Ford (Buffalo) in early commitments.
