I was a bit underwhelmed by the performance as a whole for the Griz. I guess I just expected more against a non scholarship school.
I know the Griz aren’t going to show all there cards in a game like this and more than likely kept everything vanilla. If that not the case here, well we could be in for a rough ride folks.
I’m going vanilla game plan for first game of the season. Hopefully this next game against U Tech shows more and we at least match what the sCats did against them.
IMO - No way we will match what the scats did to ut. Adjustments, corrections, personnel changes, home field, etc will make both teams somewhat different in week 2 vs week 1. Griz have plenty to work on and if we improve each week I would hope/expect a win this weekend. I'd be happy with a 20-30 point win. I just don't see our boys winning by 43 but I hope they do!!

Go Griz!

I agree.

Why not describe Butler as a team that almost made the playoffs last season? Isn’t that more important than scholarships?

Ponder over to the east for an OL that you may aspire to become.

The one that couldn’t get the ball in on 4 runs from the 3 on the first drive of game?

It's interesting that you keep beating this drum on a team that put up 407 yards rushing and 7 rushing touchdowns. But hey, you go for it!

Chambers got in on 4th down. I agree it was ugly, but refs couldn’t see with the giant pile. Need to shore up that goal line push. Oh well, racked up about as many rushing yards as the gris had total offense against a non scholarship unit. But you go girl!

yea I agree that is kind of odd. maybe if it had been in the 4th quarter and the score were tied or behind but on the first drive not sure I would keep focusing on that one thing. Even a blind drunk like me can see scats have a good run game.

As a Cat fan, I didn't like that sequence at all. They also struggled last year in short yardage. The interior isn't really built to vertically displace defensive linemen. Maybe Reimer and Omar Aigbedion will help there in time. But it could cost them in a bigger moment.

That said, I think Hoopsfan is harping on it to save face. He made a whole thread to mock the MSU running game and then they put up 407 yards and 7 TD's on the ground. That's a tough look.

Lord Veggo,

Contrary to your belief, most of Griz Nation is not obsessed with bubcats like you guys are with us, so we have no idea wtf you’re talking about.

Take these couple sentences, for instance. It sounds like you’re casting spells out loud to your Harry Potter or D-n-D group meeting in your mom’s basement.

Oh, no problem! You need only ask, my friend.

Rush Reimer and Omar Aigbedion are the starting guards at MSU. Reimer is a junior who moved inside from tackle. Aigbedion is a sophomore. His last name is African, not an incantation from a children's book.

Glad I could help.

Couldn't agree more. The only bub names I know are the wine guy, and the two coordinators because they've been in the news so much since their humiliating arrests.

Wait, I man, because they SHOULD be in the news so much following their humiliating arrests and the WAAC bub leadership not only not firing their asses, but giving them extensions and pay raises. That's why I know them.

We shall see how a one dimensional run first offense works this next weekend. Didn’t work to well last year when the Cats played in South Dakota. Not sure it will this year either. Griz have a great schedule. Need to capitalize on it while the Cats have a tough road schedule this year. Injuries can always play a factor for any team. This season is going to be interesting and the first week told us ZERO!

I’ve been waiting all off-season to see what a rematch in Brookings looks like in good weather. It stinks for the Cats that two starting receivers are out. They would certainly help. I’m not expecting a win in their place, but it will be telling depending on how competitive they are.

Hoops is doing his best to bait Cat fans & get them banned. (Banned equates to band for some of you). Vigen called a vanilla game, didn't give away anything for SDSU. The Cats will be more creative this weekend & are better suited to spread it out if they want to run Chambers up the gut Running the same play up the gut leads to fumbles on the goal line!

That's right. I forgot Vegan had to call plays because your OC was serving his ridiculous one game suspension for his felony hit and run, destruction of evidence and lying to the police.

I bet the WAAC bubs will be glad to have him back, huh?

serious question who is a better play caller vigen or housewright? not a scat fan but I won't be too surprised if scats pull it off. I actually will be more pleasantly surprised if the scats get trounced. regardless of what happens i will be looking forward to playing you guys in mid November.

It’s easily Housewright. He’s much more willing to be creative and take risks.

I absolutely hate asking but pretty sure houseparty's charges were all misdemeanors

Seriously, I just don’t follow the Cats. Can you tell us why the receivers are out and is it serious? I hope it is not and they can play later in the season. Too early for injuries already.

Ty McCullough, the Colorado State transfer, had an injury in fall camp that fans didn’t know about until Saturday. Lonyatta Alexander, the Washington transfer, has eligibility issues related to the transfer. I don’t *think* the McCullough injury is serious.

Consistent with the thread title, “Really”?

Where was this “reported”?

Did Sixxer do a presser or make a statement?
