At this point of the season with a new coaches, offense etc etc our record is not a surprise. I was not expecting UM to beat the Bison like many. We did and that set our expectations even higher than normal.

I surely am not expecting a playoff spot for this year. I do hope that we can look to beat EWU and MSU. Wins against those two teams would be a good way to end off the season and start building for next year.

I believe Stitt needs time to build this team and recruit players he needs. I hope like many next year will show improvement and a better base to work off of.

If Stitt has not been able to get things rolling in 3 years then hopefully UM will make a change.

I had high aspirations for coach Stitt and his show. I believe we all felt UM had the talent in place for Stitt to mold. We are seeing that is either not the case or maybe Stitt might not be the guy to do it.

I have not and will not give up on the Griz. I am however being realistic and looking at all sides.

I agree that after NDSU, expectations went sky-high. But why not? Stitt and crew came on as offensive gurus and the first thing they did was beat the #1 ranked team in the country. Fast forward to today with losses at home to Weber, and Cal Poly, and road losses to Liberty and PSU, and we are seeing that the team that we thought could play with anyone really can't. Due to a remarkably ineffective offensive line and Stitts inflexibility in assisting that line, we are on QB number 3, and at PSU it showed. This season is filled with what-ifs.

When we look at game film from yesterday, we will see all of those things coming to a head in spectacular fashion. I do believe that the offense not executing putts so much pressure on the D that it was inevitable that they would give up a big game. Stitt had all the tools for a spectacular season. He created the hype and the team set the expectations enormously high. This is what the wanted. Stitt just has failed to deliver. This season he has been out coached and out schemed. Moreover, it looks like his team hasn't fully bought into what he is selling. It is the buy in that worries me. That has the potential to derail progress from year to year. I'm worried that Bob Stitt will become Montana's Nigel Burton.

Burton never had the buy in from his players and his body of work reflected that. The same players with a coach that they like and respect are torching this league. PSU has always had great athletes but lacked buy in or respect for the head coach and his system. The result is that they became Big Sky doormats. With the same scheme, same players, and same everything minus the head coach, they are dominating. That's what effective leadership and locker room buy in does.

PDX....not quite fair to Stitt. We have some great athletes, however, some not so great. Stitt needs a couple of years to recruit talent and fill the voids that were left by others.

It's not really that Stitt needs players for his system. It does help. It's he needs time to teach them how this machine works. The younger guy's will have more time to learn it. I think he said something like he has 5 different formations and 80-90 different reads. That's a ton of learning.
