Who really GAF about this? Might be the only thing more useless than polls...

Whoe big fella... Its just for conversation as no other ranking/poll gives info on every FCS school.

I understand that, I just don't get it when people get all worked up about this or polls, when we have a great way to settle it on the field at the end of the season...

I will look for the article that Jeff discussed this last year. It is an ELO system much like chess uses.

If it wasn't used NDSU without a win would not be where they are because there is not enough data. All they could compare is Montana, Cal Poly and NDSU. It would be a closed environment with those three.

It appears that he is not using ELO_chess this year. It's likely that preseason rankings are used for initial weights. However, this information is likely proprietary and thus he would not discuss exactly what goes into his preseason ratings.

You are most likely correct, I know he changed the names of some of his columns in 2002 for the BCS because of MOV. A good chance he has changed things this year also.

Currently, if we were to repeatedly play CP in Missoula, Sagarin has us winning 53.9% of the time.
