Random find on twitter - someones re-brand suggestion

Boy that cartoon bear looks a LOT like the Memphis Grizzlies logo....

I was thinking that same thing.

UGH. And no more gray! When do we get back to silver and maroon? I love the maroon helmets but the gray script is terrible.

While I appreciate the time and effort this guy must have put into this project, to me it just doesn't say Montana Grizzly athletics. The UM is kinda cool, but the rest isn't. Too cartoonish. If I had to choose a helmet besides the classic dovetail Griz, I would pick the one with the large paw on the back. Those are pretty badass!

I'm betting we will see the jerseys that were used in the griz-cat game this year. Saw something on FB a while back with Stitt and the Governor that kind of suggested that may be in the works. Must have been something with the outline of the state being on the helmet.

I did like the big MONTANA painted on top if the feild house. The rest of it? Ehhh.

I agree, that was a nice touch. I also liked the soccer uniforms with the Orange(copper) stripes.

I really like the subtle change to the interlocking UM - making it a bit more 3D and giving it some pop. It looked really good on the all white helmet...that's about all I like from everything though.

That's pretty much the only thing I liked of those mock-ups as well.

This isn't nearly edgy enough if you're going to break with "tradition." Though like some of the posters, do like the UM, and the Montana sign on the field house is outstanding. Imagine how that would look from the Goodrich blimp on 8/29 - do you think the new SID will read eGriz as religiously as Guff did?

Expect some tweeks or rebranding when this thing catches fire. Not a huge fan of the state outline on the helmet, though I think as a jersey medallion it has some legs. Give him props for helping initiate a conversation that didn't, at least so far, degenerate into a pissing contest.

Seeing Yogi Bear on the Wa-Griz 50 yard line would be ample reason to hurl. And why would some guy in Io-way waste "blood, sweat and tears" on an off-target image campaign that doesn't need fixing in the first place? Maybe he can peddle a similar doodling package to the home state Hawkeyes. I wish him well...

in a word, no for me....a simple a light griz script on dark helmet and a dark griz script for a light helmet....we have a unique griz script that is well branded and known all over the country, why mess with things....that's our identify that most teams in the country only wished they could duplicate..... geeezzzzz.....

I like the redesigned UM. Kind of looks like the M is walking through the U. Hate everything else. Too cartoonish/cute.

Currently, the Griz script and the UM brand are the only things I wouldn't change. Improve possibly, but the script is sacred..

UM Athletics kind of has an identity crisis at the moment.

I think if you are going to call it a "rebrand" then it has to be more than just some tweaks -- and unnecessary ones at that. I don't think the Griz brand has issues at the moment. Some people seem to like to tinker with no particular purpose. I like tradition and I think the Griz brand has a significant amount of tradition behind it. If you were trying to create a fresh start or leave a losing past behind then OK. But it ain't broken so...

Tradition seems to work for the Yankees, Dodgers, Cardinals (baseball), Cowboys and Bears.

The only thing good coming out of this, is the interlocking UM. The current is good, but I think this little tweak is good.

The script logo is just, well to be blunt, dreadful.
