What if UND beats NDSU?

The committee going to seed their darlings NDSU behind Tarleton? Assuming Griz win out. Could we get a 1.Montana. 2.Tarleton 3.NDSU 4.UND. 5.SDSU 6.MSU???

Tarleton has a win over FBS Army. IF the griz win out and Tarleton Win out, with an NDSU LOSS Tarleton would be #1. IF the griz win out, and tarleton loses and ndsu lose, it could shake the standings, but until that happens, I don't see the griz getting any higher than 3. Which sucks.

If we win out, we'd have a harder schedule, a win over probable top 5 MSU, and a conference championship in the 2nd strongest conference in FCS.

It's very much a possibility that we jump Tarleton, even if we both win out.

It is the committee that picks, not the polls. Based on the criteria and resumes if both are undefeated between Tarleton State and UM, I think the Griz will get the nod from the committee. I'm more curious if Griz fans be cheering for UC-Davis or MSU-Bozeman on Nov. 15th.

Montana is 89 in Sagarin, not 70.

I don't think the number to the far left matters in Sagarin's score predictor. Montana and Montana State were 88 and 81 a few weeks ago, but separated in the ratings by 5 points. Now, they're 89 and 63, but still 5 points apart.

Yes, that is the ranking out of all D1 teams, which is what the original post was referencing.

Control their destiny

Montana - @Weber, vs EWU, @PSU, vs MSU. I think the Grizzlies control their destiny, undefeated and Big Sky conference champions capping the year with a top 5 win (presumably) against MSU would vault them over Tarleton on accounts of winning a far stronger conference and by then they should be ahead of Tarleton in Massey, SoS, and Sagarin too.

Tarleton State - @ACU (ranked 24th), bye, vs N. Alabama, vs Austin Peay (ranked 22nd). Tarleton is probably winning out, if Montana stumbles they've probably got the 2 seed locked down even though some other 1 loss teams could have far better SoS / Massey / Sagarin arguments. I just don't see the playoff committee seeding a 1 or 2 loss team over an undefeated Tarleton.

Tarleton State trailed throughout the game, and eventually lost 31-28 at ACU. No 2 seed for T State.

Also - based on how NDSU played today, I don’t think it’s impossible they could lose to UND. Rivalry game in Grand Forks, in their dome. Probably a long shot, but in the conversation IMO.

It will be more than that. If we only beat those guys by 30 we should give up our football program.

I will be cheering for just 29, not because I care if the Bizon have a program, because Fatty will explode. Prayers to his mom though, that will be a rough clean of the basement.

It pains me to say it, but Fatty was right. NDSU was way overrated. They should have just shut it down when they could before getting embarrassed at home by an unseeded team.
