Then why does the official website of the Montana Grizzlies say that he turned down SEVERAL offers to play college football. Wouldn't someone check the accuracy of statements before releasing them using the university's name?

Maybe these sites get confused between recruiting him versus offering him?

That must be the case, but one would expect the sports information director at UM to know the difference.

Did you hear that Austin Daye had SEVERAL offers to play o-line in college? I can't tell you which teams offered him, but his brother will definitely play for a Big 10 team. (he's only 11, but he already weighs 120 lbs!)

Also, Pendergraft turned down George Clooney's role in Oceans 13 to play hoops for the Zags.

Well that didn't take very long! email from Dave Guffey:

"North Dakota schools primarily. We talked to him as well."

It's not really what I was looking for, but I was impressed with the short turnaround time. I'd ask for specifics: Recruited or offered? What schools? But I'm sure he has better things to do.
