Quicksand!

On Friday in Frisco, we went to the Griz practice. We watched a team prepare for victory. The team was pumped and energized. My 10-year-old Grandson got to race against' Junior Bergan, it was the most epic time of his life. He got to talk to many players, and they treated him like a team member. Nothing but respect for these young men and coaches. Asher Croy made a true friend with my Grandson as well! Chris Walker, the Griz cap you gave to him was something he will cherish for many years!

Now my topic:
In the movie, Replacements, Gene Hackman asked the team what scares them? After some debate about spiders ect...Shane Falco speaks up and says, "Quicksand."
Folks what I saw after the turnover in the second half was this exactly. I witnessed a team trying so hard to win this game that everything they tried just fell apart. Just like in the movie, first one thing goes wrong, then another then and another and soon you trying to keep your head up like sinking in quicksand.

All I can add is, Congratulations on a great season! You young men performed OUTSTANDING! Very proud of each and every one of you!

Go Griz!

Great post. Exactly what I was thinking in the third quarter when the dam burst and we started losing any semblance of composure. The harder you fight the worse it gets. We had opportunities that we didn’t capitalize on. It felt like the NDSU game last season. Guess we just need to work on slaying dragons one at a time until it becomes the norm. We sure slayed a lot of them this year though.

Make it back next year and the guys will be more composed. We had them in a perfect position until about midway through the 3rd quarter.

The play that really turned everything I thought was after Gronowski scrambled. And rolled out. Hit his big tight end to get down to about our 10. Next play he ran it in.

After going back and watching on TV. Refs missed some major impactful holds on that play. Oh well. SDSU was one hell of a team.

We also need to try and get bigger. SDSU and NDSU both just look different.
