The reason I'm surprised what was posted about Tony Rice is because I actually met him AT A GRIZ FOOTBALL game, the Sam Houston State game in 2001. Maybe something has happened to cause a rift with Griz football since then, but that day, he sure seemed like a big Griz fan and proud Alumni to me.

Not exactly. There were big games when the place was packed. The Big Sky was a scary place with Walter Payton candidates/winners and teams like Nevada and Boise playing deep into the playoffs. People showed up for those games, but seating was pretty roomy at other games. I usually sat in the endzone on the grass.

Or sit outside the north end zone with a cold pack of beer and watch through the fence. Did that a few times. We also used to pull the pickup up on the grass at the riverbowl and tailgate our asses off. Didn't have to have a tailgate spot back then. Boy that field would get all tore up when there was some snow or rain. Probably why they don't allow it anymore.

I remember Tony Rice!!! He was one of the best players. I have to admit he was so handsome!!! I used to talk to him in Stockman’s Bar!!! Some days I would love to be able to sit and have a conversation with him with out my friends there!!!
